"Ron, Charles, and
Watcher Woman"
I had just finished reading a letter of encouragement to Ron
Reese when I clicked on Charles' letter about trimming our
wicks. Charles wrote: "In watching I almost used all my oil
too soon! God showed me to trim my wick and rely on Him and
patiently wait!" I immediately thought of Ron, and that this
is a timely word for him!
I so agree with all those who have written to encourage Ron
not to give up, and have appreciated everyone's words of
wisdom. Anyone who has ever truly trusted in the LORD and
gone out on a limb in that trust has experienced
disappointment when things didn't go as we were sure they
would. Been there myself, and still waiting for God's
answer, but we are to pray always and never give up. We're
not to grow weary in well-doing, for at the proper time we
will reap a harvest if we don't give up! Let's hold on
patiently, trustingly, until God fulfills His plans and
purposes for all things.
Watcher Woman, I, too, had read your post and loved it. What
Frank Molver said is true - people don't respond to every
post, and it can definitely be disappointing. But having
come to know folks on this site over the past 3 or so years,
I can promise you that your post was read and was
well-received by many, and that for every response you may
get, there are probably at least a couple of hundred people
that read it and enjoyed it, but didn't reply. Don't be
discouraged, dear one, and realize that if God prompts you
to post something, you should continue to do it even if you
don't get the response you hoped for. There may be just one
person who really needed to read what you wrote, and you
will never know in this life how your faithfulness has
ministered to others. I pray that today you are being
encouraged and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, and know,
too, that you are part of a much larger family of God that
needs you, although you don't know what impact you are
having.
Let's all keep looking up, expecting His glorious return!
