"Rain in Australia - heralding the Outpouring?"

Rain in Australia - heralding the Outpouring?

And as it was in the days of Noe (Noah) - so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
Lots of rain!

Record rainfall in Australia

Most of the Doves are very aware of the dramatic weather events that are taking place across the world, including the incredible European (and even North African) freeze.  The turnaround in Australia from drought to flooding rains is nothing short of amazing - our lawns in Canberra are deep green in the middle of Summer!  Averaged across Australia, the last two years are the wettest on record (and follow years of persistent drought).  Our Summer has been cool, and Sydney is expected to have its coldest Summer (December, January and February) in over 55 years (since 1954).  While these weather events bring considerable hardship, they are also a national and global warning of the nearness of the Lord’s Return.

Australia - the sunburnt country (rainfall country?)

This is the nature of this great land of Australia that those of us who live here love so much - a land of droughts and flooding rains (one verse of I love a sunburnt country poem below).  Even Isaiah could have been looking at Australia in Isaiah 33:17 (Amplified)  Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; [your eyes] will behold a land of wide distances that stretches afar.”

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

Is the promised outpouring of the Holy Spirit imminent? Yes!

The promise in Joel 2: 28 - afterward I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; - has not yet been fulfilled in its entirety.  Joel goes on:  your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

If the natural rain in Australia is any guide, the spiritual heavy rain is about to fall.  Note the context of the Outpouring promise in verse 30, 31  God’s judgments on the Earth:  I will show signs and wonders in the heavens, and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of  smoke (nuclear shaped palm trees!)  31  The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.

Clearwater Revival and Rapture!

Joel 2:23  He causes to come down for you the rain - the former rain

and the latter rain, as before,

If we read the Word with open hearts and minds and listen with discernment to the true prophetic voices (and keep our eyes on Five Doves), the world is about to experience exponentially some earth shattering/changing events - earthquakes, a new war in the Middle East, economic collapse, the Rapture of the church, Antichrist and the ultimate Return of Jesus Christ to the Mount of Olives in glorious victory.  But there is also the promise of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Holiness!) upon all flesh, that would accelerate His Eternal purposes and usher in the Rapture.  In Australia in the past couple of years we have seen endless, awesome film footage of floods, and almost always the water is dirty brown.  On the Day of Pentecost there was a release of the Holy Spirit from the very Throne of the Father, through the finished work on the cross of His Son Jesus Christ!

Our visions of revival are limited by what we have seen and we rejoice in the great movings of God.  But it is now time to lift our vision higher, and to also look back at the Book of Acts - at the greatness of the promised outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last days, at the beginning of the church, and what lies just ahead of us now.  By way of inspiration, imagine you could be placed on a mountain (of worship) and could see, at the one time, some of the great waterfalls of the world: Niagara, Victoria, Iguaza and Angel Falls.  This, I believe is a vision of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  The really great part is the whiteness, the clarity of the water falling over the rocks – perhaps the rock group name (Creedence) Clearwater Revival says it best.

Note:  I do not follow Rock music, but I have seen one interesting group advertised here in Australia - The Rapture.  They are New York based.  Their latest song is How Deep is Your Love, from an album titled In the Grace of  Your Love!

 Maranatha!  Denis
