"Something for Bonnie to try...."

For Bonnie in her request for prayers for her back pain....

I can totally sympathize with your painful condition because of what I have gone through in my own life.  Surgery isn't always the best answer, and sometimes it causes more problems than it cures.  I pray that the Lord will give you the right choice.

I can tell you something you can try that has helped some people with recurring back pain.  As often as you are able, relax in a reclining chair, if possible.  Apply a cold pack (crushed ice in a baggie and wrap in a cloth...or use frozen vegetables in a package) to the painful area for about 15 minutes...but don't put the ice directly on the skin.  Then after the 15 minutes of the cold pack, apply a heating pad or heat pack for 15 minutes.  Alternate these two for about an hour.  After this you will probably notice a significant decrease in the pain....or hopefully, you will.  Tak! ing ibuprophen just before doing this may help as well.

The cold numbs the pain.....then the heat brings blood rapidly to the area to heal and relax the muscle.  This works with almost everyone who tries this.  This may be just enough to allow you to sleep well at night, and sleep is also a great healer.

I will keep you in my prayers as well...

Arlene
