It's always best to take Scripture in context.  If you read further, Isaiah 66 emphatically tells us that there IS a temple.  God made the Heaven and the Earth, but man will build the temple. Continuing on, the sacrifices apparently done in that temple are an abomination....but they WILL be done.  If you continue on reading beyond what I posted below, you will see that passage is about the time leading up to the Millennial Kingdom or the Tribulation.

Isaiah 66:1 Thus says the Lord:
“Heaven is My throne,
And earth is My footstool.
Where is the house that you will build Me?
And where is the place of My rest?
2 For all those things My hand has made,
And all those things exist,”
Says the Lord.
“But on this one will I look:
On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit,
And who trembles at My word.

3 “He who kills a bull is as if he slays a man;
He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog’s neck;
He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood;
He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol.
Just as they have chosen their own ways,
And their soul delights in their abominations,
4 So will I choose their delusions,
And bring their fears on them;
Because, when I called, no one answered,
When I spoke they did not hear;
But they did evil before My eyes,
And chose that in which I do not delight.”

"RE: Neil--"The Tribulation Period did NOT begin in October of 2008"Hello, John and Doves,

Let's take a look at Daniel 9:27
"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."
Nowhere do I see the mention of a third temple.

What I do see is that when Jesus Christ returns, there will emphatically be NO TEMPLE.
It is written,
"Thus saith the LORD, The heaven [is] my throne, and the earth [is] my footstool: where [is] the house that ye build unto me? and where [is] the place of my rest?"  Isaiah 66:1
Now, unless the LORD has gone blind, there is no temple.  Isaiah 66 maps onto Revelation.
