Yes, it is a new spin-off/remake/continuation of the former tv show/mini series.

Back then it dealt with the social implications of things like the Nazi's treatment of the Jews. Today, it's a whole deeper/darker story.

I have no idea how to get it. In fact, some fans were complaining that they aren't even playing the episodes online like they did last year, so if people don't dvr them, they miss them.

Oh, and yes, they still do the dislocate the jaw thing, the effect was of course much more sophisticated, but so very much a tribute to the CGI of the day.

The best part is that are using the actress from the original as the mother of the current 'queen'...she was 'infected' by the 'human skin' and turned against her own, by somehow (we've yet to get full details) turning against her own kind...so her daughter has her in a 'dungeon' of sorts....with mossy looking pods, but she's still wearing designer dresses! :)

I hope you can get to see it. I just hope it doesn't turn in such a way that I do not want to watch it. I was worried when they went to the Vatican...but then it went right along with things we know will happen...the infiltration of the Church!
