Daniel the post that you have today in five doves is a further stretch of our resets. If it does not fit the interpretations let us find one that fits.
your item 1 the generation of 70 years does not end in 2017 as far as math is concerned. Israel was proclaimed a nation in May 15, 1948 plus 70 years = 2018.
It is my opinion and I am not among the worlds brains on the subject of prophecy that there are other scriptures that must also fit in the puzzle like the 6,000 years since Adam or the different wars that must involve Israel.
I would say that a starting of the Tribulation on the year 2017 is a very highly improbable scenario. In this five doves there have been very good papers written in support of other dates for the Rapture and the Tribulation and they all have quoted scripture to support their arguments.
The situation in Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen Iraq, Syria, Sudan and other Muslim nations indicates to the observer and all the news commentators of the major news networks that the Middle East is driven by instability and violence.
These factors tend to point out a very close time fulfillment of the prophecies pertaining to the Rapture and the start of the Tribulation.
Today in five doves there are people that are saying that the Rapture will occur at the sixth seal and others have argued that we are already in the Tribulation. Others have placed the start in Oct 28, 2008 with the Obama telecast.
Too many theories and dates.
I for one will try to pinpoint the parts of the puzzle and the major participants based on the fact that we are in the times of the end and that History is fluid and in constant change and challenge myself to find more than one proof for any event to be a definitive clue or piece of the puzzle.
Do not feel discouraged by my words but keep testing and verifying, and then retest your ideas again. It is an extremely complex interpretation and we must labor hard to solve. The same I say to all doves that are involved in this task.

Daniel Matson (31 Jan 2011)
“Operation Reset“
With the passing of 2010 and the anticipated Feast of Trumpets
Rapture, many straws were grasped at in the following months to make
the 2010-2017 timeline work. Even though some of the tweaks
had a few valid considerations, there were still items that must be
reset since changes were made to previously held views simply due to
“scheduling pressures”–trying to squeeze in the events before seven
years expired in 2017. It should be fairly clear now that fitting in
the 70th Week by the time of 2017 is impossible, unless one truncates
the 70th Week to only 3.5 remaining years, but that view distorts the
clear chronology of Daniel 9. And to say we are now in those seven
years, is simply not true.
The first straw was to move the
Rapture date to October 9, 2010 instead of September 9, 2010. The
theory here was to keep intact a Feast of Trumpets Rapture and that the
current observed Jewish year was actually a month early, which would
have placed Trumpets on October 9th. This was clearly a valid point
that needs further consideration in the years ahead. However, even
though valid, this straw failed for 2010. There was no Rapture.
The second straw was to move the
Rapture to October 18, 2010, which was Heshvan 10 or Yom Kippur
depending on the Jewish Calendar being right or one month early. This
day was at the increment of 120 day periods since June 7, 1967. It fell
at 120 plus 12 of these periods. Due to “scheduling pressures” the
item sacrificed here was not keeping the Rapture on the Feast of
Trumpets. The possible theme of the Church being sealed into the “ark”
at this time seemed a valid comparison. In fact many events of the year
honed in on this day. Its significance, however, was not to have a
Rapture.
At this time more straws seemed
possible up and through Hanukkah 2010. Clearly we are still here and
Hanukkah was the end of the scheduling limit. So where are we now? In
limbo?
First, this article is about
operation reset. The first order of business is to reset the view that
the Rapture is to occur on the Feast of Trumpets. There are many good
articles and books on this. The key is that when Paul described the
Rapture, it was to occur “at the Last Trump” (1 Corinthians 15:52).
Jewish understanding of this term of the day along with the themes
ascribed to the Feast of Trumpets, should make this pretty much a solid
fact that the Rapture is to occur on the Feast of Trumpets.
The second item of business is to
clarify and reset to the prior conclusions of Daniel 9. With the
scheduling pressures it seemed somewhat plausible that the “he” who
confirms the covenant could be the Messiah and therefore a Rapture
event that kicks off the 2,520 days. However, this interpretation
required that the “he” who stops the sacrifices also be the Messiah,
which does not make sense unless he is viewed from a position of
sovereignty, which does seem to be stretching a more concise meaning.
According to Daniel 9, the crux comes to understanding who the “prince
to come” is, whose people destroyed Jerusalem. For it to be the Messiah
in order for the further use of “he” to refer to the Messiah in the
70th Week, it means that the Jews destroyed Jerusalem. The only other
option is the Romans or rather people of that empire. This is the
better choice because clearly the prince “to come” still refers to
something future to this destruction. The “prince to come” is properly
identified as the Antichrist who comes to power at the time of the end.
This then gets back to the previous understanding that the Antichrist
confirms the covenant at the beginning of the seven years, causes the
Abomination of Desolation midway, and then is overthrown by the Prince
of Princes at the conclusion of the 70th Week.
One thing that was discovered through this process is that the Antichrist confirms the
covenant. This revelation to Daniel would seem to mean to its
original intended audience to be the Land Covenant of Israel. He is not
saying a covenant, but the covenant. In other words, this seems to
mean that the Antichrist will confirm the Land Covenant. He would
actually say that Israel is Israel’s, not the Palestinians. He is then
wooing Israel. If Israel has just been saved by God from the
Russian-Iran Axis, then to obviously put oneself into a position of
power in Israel is to approach it as a friend. It would be pure
deception.
So the reset for the onset of the 70th Week is back to these conclusions:
2 – The Russian-Iran Axis Invasion then comes to its fulfillment per Micah 7. Developments in this theater will be further seen
as this time approaches. The Rapture will be the catalyst. It is probable that other wars will be seen prior to the
Rapture that further set the stage, like the Lebanon 2006 War or Operation Cast Lead 2008/9.
3 – The Antichrist comes to power in the following vacuum of Ezekiel’s war and the ensuing political crisis. His confirming the
covenant begins the 70th Week.
Other last minute scheduling adjustments attempted to move the conclusion of the 70th Week to the conclusion of Day 1290, which is 30 days after the Day of Atonement. The Day of Atonement has been held here to always conclude the 1260 days. In rethinking Daniel 9, it is interesting that the last item to fulfill the 70 weeks is to anoint the Most Holy. Some translations refer to this as Christ or the Most Holy Place, referring to the Holy of Holies. This was only entered once a year by the High Priest on the Day of Atonement. Therefore, it would seem to be the solid choice to say that Day 1260 and hence, Day 2520, all conclude on the Day of Atonement as Christ our High Priest sets foot on the Mount of Olives, crosses the Kidron Valley, and offers atonement for the nations at the Most Holy Place and becomes the Anointed King. This would therefore conclude the 70 Weeks. The start of the 70th Week will therefore begin 2,520 days back from the Day of Atonement as had been believed.
Therefore, the original conclusions are still believed to be in play. These are:
2 – The Abomination of Desolation will occur in the middle of the 2,520 days on Nisan 20 on Firstfruits (Sunday), which usually
puts the Day of Atonement on the Sabbath.
3 – The 2300 evenings and mornings make 1150 days that stretch from Av 10 and the “bringing low” of the Temple until the
Day of Atonement.
4 – Day 1290 would coincide with Heshvan 10.
5 – Day 1335 would coincide with Hanukkah.
Please remember, this is speculation with what information we have. The Lord is returning soon regardless of anything having to do with this website. However, with the day counts of Daniel, only certain years fit within the leap month system within the limit of a generation, even if the upper limit of a generation is 80 years.
More will soon come. The next coming article concerns the use of 120 and the patterns that have been seen and what may continue.
