I, too, have stopped reading all news, like WorldNetDaily and Drudge Report.  It “angries up my blood”.   And it fills me with fear and anxiety about evil things taking place in our nation and the world, things over which I have no control.  My worrying changes things not one bit, only leaves me in a bad state of mind.

 

What finally occurred to me is what Jesus has been telling me to do, all along.  I fix my eyes on Him and Him alone, and trust in His love to protect and deliver us from all evil.  I find that I am giving back to Jesus the power that I had been giving to the evil in the world.  If I fear the news of the world, I am not trusting in Him, am I?
