When is Jesus Returning?

“The Answer is 42!”

                   BY – Ted Porter (13 Oct 2008)

     Dear Doves,

I am sure we all wilted when Rosh Hashanah came and went with no resurrection, no call of the Bridegroom – nothing. What?  It all seemed to fit so well. So, back to the drawing board we go. The first day and the last day of the 7-year Tribulation seem to be the days of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture and the Pre-Wrath Rapture.  The 70th Week of Daniel 9:27 does not seem to be the same length as the 7-year Tribulation.

The theory is that if the 2nd coming is 2015 and if the tribulation is 7 years and there is a rapture before the tribulation, then the rapture should be ROSH HASHANAH, 2011.

Introduction

In 1978, a science fiction radio series aired on BBC called “The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy”.  Created by Douglas Adams, it went on to become a spin-off TV series, comics, various books, and even a movie.  One of the repeated themes in the various incarnations of “The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy” is that a "simple answer" is asked of a computer called “Deep Thought” to “the ultimate question”.  After “Deep Thought” has spent 7 ½ million years computing and checking the answer, it spits out the number “42”.  Unfortunately, by this time, “the ultimate question” itself has been forgotten.

Fortunately, in real life today, eschatologists, (those who study end-time Bible prophecy), know “the ultimate question”.  That question is, “When is Jesus Returning?”  And, some of those same eschatologists even know the answer, even if they are at a loss to explain it, which again is the number “42”.

The Arithmetic of God

In 1976, a book was published called “The Arithmetic of God”.   This book claims that its Author is Jesus Christ.  Don Kistler, the one we could suppose is the author, lists himself as only the scribe.

How audacious a claim is that?  Is Don suggesting this book is inspired by God as to put this book on the same level as the original Hebrew Bible?  Sounds almost like blaspheme!  Wasn’t John the Disciple the last to receive revelation from Jesus Christ that became the last book of the Holy Bible, around 95 AD?   Well, there is no way to prove that assertion either.

But then, before we are too quick to judge, should we not first examine the book?  Remember that Jesus Christ when He was on earth, claimed to be the Creator of the Universe, the Great “I AM”, GOD.  This would be blaspheme and grounds for stoning, had it not been true.  Can we be sure that Don Kistler’s claim is also not true?

After examining this book, the author could find no contradictions that the author of “The Arithmetic of God”, like the Holy Bible, was not indeed Jesus Christ, the Word.  This book not only agreed with the Holy Bible but it complemented and even helped explain the Holy Bible.  But, of course, everyone will need to reach their own conclusions.  Assuming Don Kistler did receive “inspiration” from God, he rightfully should give credit for that inspiration, to God.  The author himself, while not claiming any infallibility, acknowledges that he can do nothing without God’s help.  The book has since been out of print for a while and Don Kistler has gone on to meet his great reward in Heaven.

The author also became convinced after reading The Arithmetic of God”, based on clues throughout the book, that Don Kistler had been given by God, foreknowledge of when Jesus Christ was returning.  As such, the author wrote a letter to Don Kistler during the 1980’s asking him if he could be more specific as to when Jesus Christ would return.  This was his response:

Greetings in Jesus name

Praise the Lord!

The Lord God Jesus gave me a sign to look for and I didn’t ask for the sign, but He gave it to me willingly.  I wish I didn’t put that in the book, but the Lord Jesus told me too.

The Lord Jesus gave me the “Arithmetic of God” because one day I decided to fast and pray which, is reading the Word of God to find out when He was appearing.  After days had gone by He revealed to me that He is already here in His many membered body called the sons of God.  (Romans 8:14, Gal 4:5-7, I John 3:1-2)

The sign the Lord Jesus gave me was not to be reveal, but He will reveal the sign to all the sons of God.  The sign is in the Word of God, the Bible KJV and people must read it and search the scriptures for the truth not hand-me-down man-made traditions and doctrines.  We are in the last days and enclose is a list of tapes of the teaching on the Bible.  If you decide to really know the Word of the Lord, I believe you will get a revelation on these teachings.

I hope you will understand and may the Lord Jesus continue to guide you in all truth.

In the Love of Jesus of Nazareth

Bro Don

In examining this letter, Don gives several clues.  The tone is remorseful that he could not reveal the sign foretelling the coming of the Lord Jesus as the Holy Spirit restrained him.  Still he could say that the sign will be revealed to all sons of God.  And the sign is in the KJV of the Word of God.

The Sign

Is the sign, wars and rumors of wars?  Is the sign a nation being born in a day?  Is the sign, Jerusalem, the city of Peace?  What are some of the signs spoken of in the Bible?  There are many signs, two in particular that appear to have recently been fulfilled:

1.  Nation born in a Day = Israel Created.  Fulfilled May 14, 1948?

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.  Isaiah 66:8

2.  Times of the Gentiles be Fulfilled = Jerusalem no longer trodden down by the Gentiles.  Fulfilled June 7, 1967?

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.  Luke 21:24

The Number

But then, what do we do with the sign?  We must attach a number to it.  But what number do we attach to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ?  “The Arithmetic of God” has the answer and it is “42”.  One cannot do justice by paraphrasing the answer.  What follows is exactly what is written in the book by the Author Jesus Christ:

42 Second Coming of Jesus

Let's take 42. Number 42 is the number associated with the Coming of Jesus: both His first coming and the two manifestations at His second advent (He came into the world the first time in the 42nd generation from Abraham). He is coming back for His saints before the 42-month reign of the beast, perhaps 42 months before the beast's reign begins. He will return to the earth at the end of the 42-month reign of the beast to put an end to the wicked reign. The marvelous way in which this number works is the wonder of all wonders. My children of God, the time is at hand!

"So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations." That is in Matthew 1:17. Here are 14 generations three times over. Three times 14 makes 42. Here is the number three for the Resurrection, and 14 for Salvation.

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." See Matthew 1:21. Christ is also the "Resurrection, and the life:" That is in John 11:25. When Jesus comes for His saints, the dead in Christ will be raised and the salvation of their bodies will take place, "and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9:28)

When three for the resurrection is multiplied by 14 for salvation, the product is 42, for the coming of Christ. When Jesus raised Lazarus, He spoke three words, "Lazarus, come forth." That is in John 11:43. There are also three Greek words here which have 14 letters. Here again the number three, for the resurrection, and 14, for salvation or deliverance, follow these three words with 14 letters. Lazarus came forth from the grave. When the three words are added to the 14 letters, they total 17 for victory out of the grave, "0 grave, where is thy victory?" (I Corinthians 15:55) "thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our (1) Lord (2) Jesus (3) Christ." This is in I Corinthians 15:57.

When the 14 letters in the three words Jesus spoke to Lazarus are multiplied by the three words the product is 42, for the second coming of Jesus. Fourteen times three is 42.

In all of this, there is a picture of what will take place when Jesus comes for His saints. Then the resurrection will take place, and three is for the resurrection. The salvation of their bodies will take place and 14 is the number for salvation. There is victory over death and the grave: three for resurrection and

14 for salvation total 17, the number for victory. "So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory." (I Corinthians 15:54)

All of this will be brought about at the coming of the Lord Jesus. When 3 for the resurrection of the bodies is multiplied by 14, the product is 42, for the coming of the Lord Jesus, when all this takes place.

According to the Greek, the word "anastasis" is found 42 times in the New Testament. In the translation according to the revelation that Jesus gave me, this word translated "Resurrection" 39 times, "raising again," one time, "raised to life again," one time, and "that shall raise," one time. This makes 42 times this word occurs where John said, "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." (Revelation 20:6) This connects the first resurrection with 42, the number for the coming of Jesus. A compound form of the Greek word "anastasis" is found one time in the New Testament; it is "exanastasis." It is found in Philippians 3:11, and is translated "Resurrection."

If this compounded form of anastasis be counted, the 42nd time this word would be found is in Revelation 20:5 where it is said, "This is the first resurrection." In the statement, "This is the first resurrection." there are five Greek words and 20 Greek letters. When the numbers from one to 20 are added up the sum is 210. When this number, 210, is divided by five, the number of words in the passage, it comes out exactly 42, which is the number for the second coming of Jesus.

When Jesus comes to raise His sleeping saints and to translate the living saints then their bodies will be redeemed and the manifestation of the sons of God will take place. "For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God." (Romans 8:19) At that time it will be brought to light who are really the sons of God.

In the same connection Paul said, "And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body." See Romans 8:23.

Number 22 stands for light or making manifest, number 20 stands for redemption, and when 22 js added to 20, the sum is 42, for the second coming of Jesus at which time the manifestation of the sons of God will take place and their bodies will be redeemed. Where can such a book as the Bible be found?

The return of Jesus to the earth to reign is also connected with 42. The beast or the man of sin is to be destroyed with the brightness of our Lord's coming. "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brighteness of his coming," (II Thessalonians 2:7-8)

There are 36 Greek words in this statement, the exact number of words found about the beast in Revelation 3:2, and the exact number of times the beast is mentioned in the book of Revelation. This also shows that this person will be destroyed with the brightness of our Lord's coming.

In Revelation 13:5, it is stated that the beast will continue 42 months, "and power was given unto him to continue FORTY and TWO months." In Revelation 19:11-21, there is a prophecy of the return of Christ to judge and make war. He is called Faithful and True in the 11th verse, in the 13th verse He is called the Word of God. In the 16th verse. He is called the King of kings and the Lord of lords. In the 19th and 20th verses. He is a prophecy of the beast being cast into the lake of tire and brimstone. So since the beast will continue 42 months and since he will be destroyed at the return of Jesus, then Jesus will return to reign at the end of 42 months of the beast's power, this again connects our Lord's coming with the number 42.

I've just told you something, children of God, Hallelujah!

Jesus revealed unto me of His coming and when. Oh, if you can just see what Jesus has revealed to you! That you might know the time of His coming! Not the day nor the hour, but the time of His coming.

Let us see how 42 balances with the number of the devil plus the number of the beast. Here is something to make us marvel indeed. Peter said in I Peter 1:13, "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ." When five for grace is multiplied by 42 for the coming of Christ, the product is 210. Keep this number in mind.

In Jude, in the 14th and 15th verses, there is a prophecy of Jesus coming in judgment. "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these saying. Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints. To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him." Here is a prophecy of Jesus coming in judgment. Number 11 stands for judgment and 42 for the coming of Jesus. When 42 is multiplied by 11, the product is 462. Let this number, also, be kept in mind.

It was Enoch, the seventh from Adam, who prophesied of this judgment. When 462 is divided by seven, the number connected with Enoch, it comes out exactly 66 times. Enoch prophesied of judgment. When you take 11, the number for judgment, and add all the numbers from one to 11, the sum is 66.

A description? This coming in judgment is given in Revelation 19:11-12 and Revelation is the 66th and last book of the Bible.

Now let us add 210 (which was obtained by multiplying 42 for the coming of Jesus, by five, the number for grace as given in I Peter 1:13) to 462 (which is 11, for the judgment, divided by 42, which is for the coming of Jesus). These two numbers, 210 and 462, make 672. Six, the number for the devil or Satan, added to 666, the number of the beast (see Revelation 13:18), equals 672. The evil combination of the devil and the beast will be broken up by our Lord's return.

How about those numbers, children of God? Who could write such a book or books and make them balance like this? Only one inspired by God to do so, by the revelation of Jesus Christ! Each of the 66 books of the Bible was inspired and guided by Him, Who is all-wise and never makes a mistake.

Okay.  The biggest clue is at the beginning.

He is coming back for His saints before the 42-month reign of the beast, perhaps 42 months before the beast's reign begins.

Boy is that the biggest “perhaps”.  Assuming this “perhaps” can be removed, then if we can figure out when the 42-month reign of the beast should end, we can count backward 42 plus another 42 months to the Rapture.  We surmise that the 42-month reign of the beast ends with the final return of Jesus Christ to earth.  Then this “perhaps” backs us up another 42-months for a total of 84 months.  Now, we need to figure out when Jesus Christ is returning the final time to earth.

Passion, Power & Glory

When counting time as in the books of Daniel and Revelation, how long is a month and a year?  Are they Gregorian, composed of 30 or 31 days, Hebrew, composed of moon to moon or 29.530588 days, or what can be called prophetic, composed of 30 days with 12 months making a 360 day prophetic year?  In 2003 the author had considered them prophetic, or composed of 30-day months and 360-day years.  That is when by plugging in dates and numbers in a spreadsheet, the author noticed that exactly 49 “prophetic” years or 17,640 days, to the day, were between Jerusalem Unification Day, June 7, 1967 and Yom Kippur, September 23, 2015.  Having read Sir Isaac Newton’s “The Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse”, the author saw the connection with fulfilling Newton’s interpretation of the Prophet Daniel’s 7 weeks equivalent to 49 prophetic years, separated out of the total 70 week prophecy.  This connection was posted on Five Doves and later published in book form the following year as “Passion, Power & Glory – Watching for the Return of the Prince of Peace.  From pages 44-46:

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

There is usually at least one original overriding idea in many great books.  Sir Isaac Newton's well written book, "The Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse", (originally published in 1733) may contain many but one of the greatest was the following assertion.  That regarding Daniel's 70 week prophecy, the 62 weeks from the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem related to Christ's first coming and the 7 weeks from the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem relates directly to Christ's second coming.  Quoting from the revised edition published in 1998 by Printland Publishers, Hyberadad, India, starting at the bottom of page 132.

Know also and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to cause to return and to build Jerusalem, unto the Anointed the Prince, shall be seven weeks.  The former part of the Prophecy related to the first coming of Christ, being dated to his coming as a Prophet; this being dated to his coming to be Prince or King, seems to relate to his second coming.  There, the Prophet was consummate, and the most holy anointed; here, he that was anointed; comes to be Prince and reign.  For Daniel's prophecies reach to the end of the world, and there is scarce a prophecy in the Old Testament, concerning Christ, which doth not in something or other relate to his second coming.  If divers of the ancients, as Irenaus, Julius Africanus, Hippolytus the martyr, and Apollinaris Bishop of Laodicea, applied the half week to the times of Antichrist, why may not we, by the same liberty of interpretation, apply the seven weeks to the time when Antichrist shall be destroyed by the brightness of Christ's coming.

Very well said.

Likewise is Sir Robert Anderson's groundbreaking book on Daniel titled "The Coming Prince" (1895).  One original overriding idea is in the evidence presented that the first part of Daniel's prophecy of Christ's first coming as King of Kings was fulfilled to the exact day.  This brought us to what we celebrate as Palm Sunday, the Sunday before His passion when He entered Jerusalem as King of Kings but was later rejected that same day.  One simply had to substitute, using the conversion used in Revelation, 360 days for each of the days represented in the 70 week prophecy of Daniel regarding the 7 and 62 weeks total.  (The days represent years and the years contain 360 days.)

Now, standing on the shoulders of these giants and creating a synthesis of these two original ideas to create a third.  That is, the modern day commandment to rebuild Jerusalem occurred when the Nation of Israel captured Jerusalem on June 7, 1967.  Rebuilding has indeed occurred since that time in Jerusalem.  Adding 7 weeks or in other words 49 years of 360 days from June 7, 1967 brings one to exactly Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, in the year 2015, (September 23, 2015, Tishri 10, 5776).  Would this not be the fulfillment of prophecy for Christ to return as the King of Kings "when Antichrist shall be destroyed by the brightness of Christ's coming"?

In addition, “Heavenly Signs in 2015” are discussed on page 135 of the same book, which reads in part:

Heavenly Signs in 2015

It is also of interest the heavenly signs around September 23, 2015.

http://w3c.ct.astro.it/calendario/almanacco/2015almaeng.html

On September 13, 2015 at 6hr 43min UT we have the new moon, which would be Rosh Hashanah.  Exactly 13 minutes later we have a partial eclipse of the Sun (magnitude .791).  Ten days later, which would be Yom Kippur, 9/23/2015, the proposed 2nd Coming of Christ, there is also the autumnal equinox, (8hr 21m 34s UT)….

Five days later on 9/28/2015 (2hr 49m) there is a total eclipse of the moon (magnitude 1.27).  Exactly 3 minutes later there is the full moon, although because of the eclipse it would not be seen. The previous spring equinox (March 20th), there was a total eclipse of the Sun.

Counting backward one period of 42 months from 9/23/2015 to come to the possible start of the reign of the beast brings one to the date 4/11/2012.  Counting backward another period of 42 months brings one to the date 10/29/2008.  At the time of the writing of the book, it was possible to count back another period of 42 months for watching for the Rapture, which brought one to 5/18/2005.  This date did not appear significant.  However, the number 555 did appear related to the Rapture  and the date 5/5/05 preceded this date by less than 2 weeks.  Another possible date to watch for the Rapture was also proposed which was 10/5/2005, Rosh Hoshana.  Reconciling these two dates into one date was not possible.  Both had reasons to be watched.  Note that 5 times 5 times 5 is 125 and 42 + 42 + 42 is 126.  So counting 3 times 42 inclusively equals 125 or 5 cubed.

However, now we are almost to the time of two times 42 months from 9/23/2015, Yom Kippur, or 2520 days, which brings us to: 10/29/2008.  One analogy of the two advents of the second coming of Jesus is that the first advent, the Rapture would occur on Rosh Hoshana, Tishri 1, and the second advent would occur on the date, 9 days later Tishri 10 or Yom Kippur.  Consider using the measure of time which is a measure of man, gestation.  Taking 40 weeks of days as being the period of gestation times the 9 days between Tishri 1 and 10, (40 x 7 x 9) and one also arrives at 2520 days.

Confirming Witnesses

After this book was published in 2004, many others have added to the research bearing witness for watching around 2015 for the return of Jesus Christ.  This interest has heated up as we approach the date of October 29, 2008, seven prophetic years before September 23, 2015, and 42 prophetic years from June 7, 1967.

Bonnie Gaunt in August 2006 published a study showing that 2015 is a jubilee year.

Mark Biltz in April 2008 received much media attention when he uncovered more information regarding the heavenly signs in 2015 and 2014.  This especially in regard to lunar eclipses falling on Jewish feast days in clusters called “tetrads”.

In July 2008, Joshua Elsom posted on the internet, research instead of going forward from June 7, 1967 the 7 weeks of Daniel’s 70-week prophecy, going backward 62 weeks in fulfillment of another part of Daniel’s 70-week prophecy.

In September 2008, No. 1 best-selling author David Flynn released a new book called, “Temple at the Center of Time – Newton’s Bible Codex Deciphered and the Year 2012”.  In it he discusses in depth the relationship between distance and time and how it relates to the number 2,520.  (Remember two periods of 42 prophetic months is 2,520 days.)   He reveals the amazing discover that the writing on the wall from the book of Daniel of Mene, Mene, Tekel, Uparsin are actually monetary units.  And a Mene is worth 1,000 gerahs, a Tekel worth 20 gerahs, and an Uparsin or Peres is worth half a Mene or 500 gerahs.  So the total of Mene, Mene, Tekel, and Uparsin are 1,000 + 1,000 + 20 + 500 = 2,520.  Guess what page this amazing discovery is revealed?  On page 42!

Another amazing discovery was that Israelites cubit from Moses to Solomon, used for construction of the Ark of the Covenant and the Temple was equal to 25.20 inches, another reference to 2,520.  This is not revealed till page 84!  Whether these discoveries were placed on these pages on purpose or by accident, it is still interesting, even here, to see the equivalency between 42 and 2,520.

Conclusion

Now let’s apply the number 42.  Consider the first advent of the second coming of Jesus which will be in the clouds at the Rapture.  Will it occur exactly 42 prophetic years to the day after the fulfillment of the sign of the end of the times of the Gentiles, Jerusalem Unification Day?  Consider the reign of the beast foretold in the book of Revelation.  Will it begin exactly 42 prophetic months after the Rapture of the Saints, the sons on God?  And consider the second advent of the second coming of Jesus when He sets foot upon the Mount of Olives and ends the reign of the beast.  Will it occur exactly 42 prophetic months after the start of the beasts reign, two times 42 prophetic months after the Rapture, to the day, on Yom Kippur, the Holiest day of the year?  This would make the second advent of Jesus exactly 49 prophetic years or 7 prophetic weeks or one prophetic jubilee, to the day, past Jerusalem Unification Day to fulfill the 7 weeks of Daniel’s 70 week prophecy.

Consider the first advent of the second coming of Jesus to occur at the end of the term of the 42nd different president of the United States, (one president had two separate terms of office).  Consider His coming signaling an inclusive seven-day warning before the next president of the United States is planned to be elected and a two times 42 day warning before the next president of the United States is planned to be inaugurated.

Consider periods of 49 prophetic years, which is 7 prophetic weeks, which is one prophetic jubilee, ending with the last prophetic week being October 29, 2008 – September 23, 2015.  Counting backward it works out to the time from 28 AD to 35 AD.  This would be the 42nd prophetic period when Jesus was cut off, crucified in the middle of this time.  From then till just past 4000 BC, the time of Creation, would be another two times 42 prophetic periods.  This would be the same as from now to then as three times 42 prophetic periods or prophetic jubilees.  This whole period of Man’s lease on this planet earth totals 126 prophetic 49-year jubilee periods.  Or put another way, the difference is 125 prophetic 49-year jubilee periods and 125 is 5 times 5 times 5.  Below is a table of each 49 prophetic year periods going back to Creation:
