"To Frank Molver re Millennium"

Hi Frank:  I want to thank you for posting your comments regarding this subject as I share your concerns on this teaching.  In your last few posts you have brought up some good points.  I also appreciated the comments of Elaine, Barry, Nando who posted on this and the others who contacted me personally.  This alternative teaching on the millennium and the Old Testament Jews is, to me, unsettling.  I also believe it does not conform to the “the full counsel of God.”  This particular teaching not only adds a twist to millennium issues but also supposes that there will be 2 classes of humans for all eternity.

To me, the Scriptures are pretty clear that there is now ONE people of God who are all redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ (including past, present and future saints).  And namely that only transformed immortals will live forever with God (Rev. 21:3-4).  And that Gentile believers are grafted into the true stock of Israel.

If this “new teaching” were true, then the Jews “before” the cross have a different destiny than the Jews “after” the cross.  The Bible shows us that the church doesn’t replace Israel or take a different place, but becomes one with Israel in the Messiah.  But this union is only manifested either in heaven and when Jesus returns to earth (Rev. 2:26-27 & Rev. 20:4-6).  I believe the Scriptures show that both the Old & New Testament saints share a common destiny and inheritance (John 10:16, Gal. 3:28, Eph. 1:10, Hebrews 10:14, etc.).  It’s great news for those who are saved but bad news for unbelieving Jews who are broken off because of unbelief.

I don’t want to get into a hot debate or anything I just pray that we all “study to show ourselves approved” and “rightly divide the Word of truth.”  You brought up a perfect point with Hebrews 11!  Here the writer clearly says that all the saints of old looked for a heavenly reward – even though they were given earthly covenants.  It doesn’t have to be one or the other when GOD IS GIVING BOTH!!!  Revelation 19:14 shows an army of redeemed saints returning to earth from heaven to rule and reign on the earth!  This would include the saints from both the Old and New Testaments since the Bible makes no such distinction.  We are told over and over again that there is only ONE sheepfold with ONE Shepherd.  Long story short, we get the best of both worlds!  If God promised this to us, why let anyone talk us out of it?

I’ll conclude with a quote from the Angel who made a promise to the prophet Daniel in Daniel 12:13:  “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall REST, and WILL ARISE to your inheritance at the end of days.”  Since we have the Book of Revelation we know that right now Daniel is “resting” in heaven and “will arise” in the resurrection.  And the same thing applies to us today.  I don’t know how many other ways we can accurately interpret something like this!

God bless,

Princess

"Re FM Riley's new millenium issue"

I understand FM Riley has a fan club here. But lets make sure we do not misconstrue what is being proposed.
This long letter of his culminates with the thought that Jews prior to Jesus can not be in heaven because heaven is only promised to believers in Christ after Christ was resurrected.

So the Jews before Christ only had an earthly promise, like the new earth as in the millennium I suppose, and can not be in heaven according to FM Riley's writings.

So tell me, where are the patriarchs, like Moses, Elijah, Noah, David? Were is the cloud of witnesses spoken in Hebrews 11? Where was the poor man Lazarus who died and went to paradise and could not give water to the rich man who was in hell?

Is there some different place that they went to that Christians are not? Is there some separate place for them?

I say no. I say we will see the patriarchs in heaven.

Since it is brought up and previously overlooked I think there are plenty folks here at the doves who have the ability to assess this claim very well. Let's watch over each other so we don't fall into some odd teaching. It has happened before. But generally there is pretty good feedback when these issues are brought to light.
