"Reply To Bruce Baber:Elijah The Tishbite"

Hey Bruce,

In response to your post: http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/feb2009/bruceb227.htm
And in regard to Elijah possibly not being Jewish.
He may or may not have been a full blooded Jew, but I think that he was Jewish.
How  much Jewish, who can say?

Josephus the Jewish historian, thinks that the name Tishbite, could be connected to Tishbe, a town of Gilead.
The area of Gilead is an area which included the tribal territories of Gad, Reuben, and the eastern half of Manasseh.
So I can't see trying to rule out Elijah from being Jewish.
That's what I think anyway.
