"prayer request"
Dear Doves,
I have been mostly a " lurker " on this site for several
years, with an occasional input. Now, as it is very very possible
that we will all be going home soon, I am becoming overwhelmed with the
prospect that my 20 yr old only son, Joshua, who is presently in deep spiritual
darkness, will be left behind. He made a profession of faith when
he was 8 years old, and was baptized at age 10. He was active in
our church until he was 17, at which time our church fell victim to some
probably well meant but spiritually immature " teaching " which tore our
church apart and marginalized for a while the core believers who
stood for simplicity and holy living. Joshua was a casualty of this
conflict and was essentially pushed away at a time when he should have
been embraced in love. I'm sure that many of you have experienced
similar experiences, as the church fellowships of our land are under attack
and under seige, too often from within.
This plea is not to lay blame on my fellowship, or any
fellowship, but to encourage us all to forgive, ask forgiveness, move on,
and attend to praying for and repairing in the Name of Jesus the collateral
damage we inflict upon ourselves in our too often misdirected spiritual
warfare campaigns. We need to be continually on guard and ask our
Father to give us holy wisdom so there will be no more " friendly fire
" incidents in our fellowships, and that there be no " strange fire " allowed
at our altars.
There is not much time left, but there is enough time.
We haven't much strength, but GOD will give more, if we are careful and
prayerful to redeem the time and exercise the strength and authority GOD
has given and will continue to give ....
Please pray for my prodigal son, Joshua, that I
may soon run to him with a robe and a ring. Pray that he will "....come
to himself..." ( come to his senses , see the darkness around
him and run to the Lord Jesus who will be calling to him ) . I will be
careful to pray for all of you with similar prayer requests for your sons
and daughters. Let us all make our requests known to each other,
that we may corporately make them known to HIM. HE wants to hear
from us. Then, our prayers for the salvation of our loved ones will
rise to the Father as pure, strong, fragrant incense from our altars and
prayer closets . Many of our loved ones will be saved, Satan will
know fresh defeat, and we will again know firsthand what the old
hymn says with such power : " O victory in Jesus..."
And GOD will be pleased.
Watching and waiting for our LORD,
