Subject: Which Generation? A Scriptural Analysis

I would like to make a few points concerning the passage of the Sign of the Fig Tree. These points were made in the letter "4 Biblical Clues of the Rapture in the Spring of 2008".  It was long.  So, many may have bogged down with the details.  Hopefully, this will help you and maybe others to see what I am showing.  You will find that both your analysis involving the 70 and the one that I spoke of involving the 40 both lead to the same date of Jesus return, in the fall of 2018.  Judah, the nation state of Israel, will be 70 years old at that time.  It just shows you the many clues and avenues which God uses to reveal His prophecies.  I do agree with you, that His return will be a Jubilee, because as the deed title owner and our near kinsman, He will return the Promised Land back to its rightful owner.

Let's examine the passage as is recorded in Matthew 24: 32-34.  It is also recorded in Mark 13: 28-30 and Luke 21:29-32.  The passage is part of Jesus' answer to the disciple's question in Matthew 24:3, "....Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" (KJV).  Interestingly, there was more than one question here and Jesus patiently answered all the questions.

Verses 32-34:  "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When the branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh.  So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." (KJV)

The passage speaks to Judah (nation state Israel) and compares it to a plant, the Fig tree.  When a plant first sprouts (nation is born) it is not yet a branch.  It is but a sprout.  So it was when the nation of Israel was born in May 48.  This passage speaks to a later time and season (late spring, summer is nigh) when the plant has grown, but is still young (yet tender).  It has not fully matured into adulthood.  It speaks to a later spring growth, "...and putteth forth leaves,...".   This is clearly pointing to the June 67 war (before summer solstice) when Israel gained the 4 leaves of new territories, i.e. Sinai, West Bank, Golan Heights and Jerusalem.

These are the disputed lands which so bother the Arab nations and therefore bother the oil hungry nations of the world.  These lands are the center of the trouble which brings the nations of the world against Israel.  They are the subject of the covenants and agreements which Ephraim and the other nations make with Death and Hell (Isaiah 28: 15 & 18, Daniel 9:27).  This false peace treaty agreement/covenant is but the conclusion of the Oslo accords and more currently Annapolis.  These lands are center stage in end time prophecies and events.  They are the focus of the parable of the Fig Tree because these disputed lands are which make the nations tremble.

That the 40 is clearly the time marker measuring stick should be evident in the preponderance of the 40 as a time period of generational testing in scripture.  These are available in the letter mentioned above.  It is an overwhelming number of 40 day/year events.  It includes the time period of wandering in the wilderness before the children crossed the Jordan River and entered the Promised Land (actually 5 days prior to the 41st anniversary of departure from Egypt).  This 40 springs forth from day 4 in creation when God created the sun, moon and stars and said they were to be used as markers of time, i.e. "....let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and for years" (Gen 1:14).  From the get go, God is pointing to the 4, which amplifies to the 40 and 400, as a marker of time.  Creation week is a pattern foundation for all that follows.

The 7 is a number of completion and conclusion as is the 70.  As such, it is also a number of perfection.  We will be able to see both these (40 & 70) marching lockstep in their appointed place in the nation Israel to reveal the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in the fall of 2018.

This is part of the pattern of 7 with the significant numbers of 1 - 4 - 7.  This pattern is very evident in both the Creation Week and the Menorah candle which provided light to the inner tabernacle.  The 1 & 7 represent the beginning and end (conclusion/perfection).
The 4 is preeminent in creation week as a mid week divider and holding the right to rule.  As well it is associated with the light of the sun (Son) and moon (bride).  See Genesis 1: 14-18.  The 4th candle of the Menorah is preeminent as a mid candle divider and the candle with the almond shaped bowl of oil, which provided fuel for light of all 7 candles.  The pattern of the Menorah and the Candle before the Throne in Revelations 1 are likely the same.  God showed Moses the pattern on the mountain (Ex 25:40).

Let's parallel an Old Testament passage (Leviticus 27:1-7) which foreshadows the events of the nation Israel from May 48 until Jesus comes in 2018.

This passage is referenced in the letter with respect to determining adulthood.  This and several other scriptures point to age 20 as an age to go to war and as an age of accountability, i.e. those 20 and older were cursed by Moses and told they would die, forbidden to enter the Promised Land (Num 14:29-34).  Even a year for a day principle is started in vs 34.

However, there is more to this Leviticus 27 passage and I did not quote any of it.  It actually reveals 3 stages in life: childhood, productive adulthood and seniority.  It is applicable as well to the nation of Israel during this 70 year period from May 1948 to the fall of 2018.  The dates of the Sign of the Fig tree and the Rapture of the Bride are dividers in the 3 stages of life.

This passage deals with the priest's valuation (estimation) of a person's worth in terms of shekels of silver.
Vs 5 & 6 deals with children from a month old up to age 20.  Vs 3 & 4 deals with the prime productive adult years from 20 up to age 60.  Vs 7 deals with those 60 and above.  You will note that those in the prime productive adult years are valued highest.  Even note that the male children from 5 up to 20 (vs 5) are valued higher than the adult males from 60 and up.  The females are valued the same.

I am not speaking here to male vs female, but these young children vs the old.  I see a comparison to the nation Israel during the time period from their birth in May 48 to the time in which they will be under great stress, unable to resist the power of Ephraim and the world's nations.  Their "old age" is during the time period of the seals of Revelations.  It constitutes the time between the nation's ages of 60 and 70.  It is a time period of weakness in the nation, though this weakness is mostly constituted in her leaders.

In Israel's first wars with their enemies in the 50's they were very weak (a child).  They survived by the hand of God.  In the 67 war (almost an adult), it was initially nip and tuck, but they survived and gained a miraculous victory and these disputed lands.  They had obviously grown much stronger.  These new territories (leaves) greatly increased her strategic and tactical defense.  In the 73 war (now an adult)  they were awesome, soundly defeating their enemies and surrounding the Egyptian army on the banks of the Nile.  A hundred did chase 10,000.  Only, pressure from Russia and the US kept them from annihilating the Egyptians.  Now, as we enter the period of the seals after the rapture in the spring 2008, they are 60 years old and their leaders have grown old, feeble and afraid.

Actually, the nation is still very robust and militarily capable.  They are probably the 3rd most nuclear capable nation in the world.  But, the people and particularly the leaders have grown weary of war and terrorism.  They are cautious and timid.  Their major problem is they do not have the wartime resources (stockpiles) to conduct anything but a short conventional war.  Anything longer than a couple weeks and they must have resupply from the US or other nation.  These guarantees (lack of) are probably the source of Ephraim's leverage over Israel. The nuclear option is strictly last resort.

Now let's parallel this passage with the known life of the nation of Israel.  From her birth in May 48 until the June 67 war, she was 19 years old, a child yet tender (almost, but not an adult).  From this Sign of the Fig Tree in June 67 until the 41st stripe in June 08 (40 years by God's counting method) is her prime productive years to age 60.  The seals of Revelations are a period of 10 years (Rev 2:10), plus the difference between the spring and fall feasts (total 10.5 years).  It involves 3 sets of 3.5 years, i.e. 42 months or 1260 days.  Israel will be age 70 when Jesus returns in the fall of 2018.  It will be surely a time of Jubilee.  Take a look at the rest of Leviticus 27.  It is about redeeming cattle, property and lands.  Verse 24 mentions the year of Jubilee and returning the fields unto whom the possession of the land did belong.

You could see events through the 7 (70) and I was showing folks events through the 4 (40).  Now you should be able to clearly see both.  Two strands joined together are stronger than one.   This is part of why Jesus = 74,  Joshua (the Ephraimite who led the children across Jordan and into the Promised Land) = 74 and fruit = 74.  As well John (the bride) = 47, a mirror reflected image.

How bout that sweet pie?  It ought to bring a smile to your face.
