"E'li , E'li , la'ma sa-bach' tha-ni"

R 1000
Mt 27 : 46  E'li , E'li ,  la'ma  sa-bach  tha-ni ...( my God , my God , why hast thou forsaken me  ?  It is very interesting to look closely at what it is said , here  !
Many  religions , or people think  Jesus felt forsaken and / abandonned by his Father. To find the answer , we have to look at the context the the event taking place at the cross.
The scene is three crosses , a crowd of many people, pharisees, the chief priests, roman soldiers , disciples , women , Jesus' mother .
The few sentences Jesus spoke had a meaning. He didn't speak just to    S P E A K .

To say that Jesus felt forsaken or that his FATHER moved away , we have to read
JN 17 : 21 - 22  .  He couldn't abandonned  or forsaken  HIMSELF . The Father & Son  is ONE .  Jesus' face was so dis-figured ( Isa  52 : 14 ) he didn't look like any man's face.So he might have had  a hard time to speak and pronounce well the words.
The people around him thought that Jesus was calling for  Elija. They said '' lets wait for Elija will come and save him.''  They also knew that it is said that Elija must come at the Passover . That's also why at the Seder of the jewish Passover a chair is left empty, a glass of wine is filled, and the door is not locked.  Elija is suppose to come as they say .

But really , in the movies , Hollywood style is showing Jesus lifting his eyes towards heaven and say those words. The truth is different  !
It is mostly important to know the context and the era in which these things happenned.
We have to know that the pharisees and the high priests had to know all the  TORAH  .( learn it )
That includes the  PSAUMS .   Knowing this , Jesus wanted to let them know  WHO IS WAS  !    Exemple :  Certain religious people know the LORD' s PRAYER  by heart   .
They can recite it word for word. If  I  knew that these people know that by heart ,  at anytime I  could have tell them the word  :  BREAD  . Why ?  Because it is said in the prayer . All I would do is :  Start the prayer like  =  Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name . Thy kingdom come . Thy will........  and then  stop.
In my mind , I  know that in the heads of the people around me , they would silently continue praying to themselves and  soon would come to the word.... BREAD.
There even if  I'm gone , I  know they said  BREAD .

Same thing , here.  Jesus knew that the pharisees and the high priests knew the
Psaum 22  by  heart.  All  He had to do was to  start it and then die  but even after  He died , these people will continue in their own mind ,  reciting the rest of the Psaum 22.
And Jesus ( He also knew the rest and what the Psaum talks about ).
In one way , He was still giving them a  last proof of He being Son of God.
While still praying in their heads , each words said ... the facts / events was happening right before their very own eyes.  Exemple :  nails in hands and feet , garments parted,  etc...

At the end of the reciting of the Psaum 22 ( in their own heads)  they knew Jesus was the Messiah. The proof had been hapenning just before them.
That 's  how far the love of Jesus Christ was for even them who condemned him to be crucified by the romans.
They event had  guards to guard the tomb ( Mt 27 : 65-66 )  .  and also Mt 28 : 12- 14   Paid  the guards to tell a lie.

Another thing  =  While Jesus hung on the cross , they could see  a writing over his head. The writing was in three languages...
                            JN  19 : 20    1- Hebreux    2-  grec    3- latin
Why do you think the Chief priests didn't want these writings  to be there. ???
Look at it  :  Jesus of Nazareth the king of the jews.       Now lets look at these writings.
In Hebreux  number  1 -  Y' shua    H anotsri    V' melech    H ayedulim
              Grec.........2 -  I esous    N azoraios    B asileus    I oudsios
            Latin          3-    I esus     N azarenus      R ex       I udaerum

lets take every first letters , NOW           Hebrew......... Y'  H  V  H        ....  ( Yod  Hay  Vav  Hay )
                                                           Grec  ..........   I  N  B   I
                                                           Latin ...........   I  N  R  I

Can you see now   W H Y  they didn't want that to be written over Jesus' head  ?
Some crucifix have taken out  the Hebreux and the grec writings and left only the  LATIN (  INRI ). This is not true. The writing should be left as it really happened.

That is saying .... that.... JESUS  was  the  ETERNAL    Y  H  V  H   of the old testament. That is also proving what Jesus already had told the people that before Abraham was.... He  is  ...    (  I  am , that I  am   ).

Isn't it very intersting  ?
