Matt 19 : 16 -26 A rich young man asked Jesus about what he could do to have ETERNAL life . Same question should be asked by US today ( 2008 ) .

Did Jesus told him he had to be a member of a denomination , a group , a religious sect , or any other movement , etc...

Jesus simply told him .....'' keep the commandments '' ( V. 17 )

These commandments are adressed towards people, humans, neighbors, everyone.

We know that Exod 20 : 1 - 11 these ones are adressed towards GOD.

Things we should do and respect . These are not done for the HUMANS but for GOD. ( the first four commandments )

Jesus told the young man in Ver. 21 to turn away from the rich things he had and look for a treasure in heaven. Jesus would have had 13 disciples if this rich man would have done like Jesus asked. But we know that Jesus only had 12 .

This 13 th man called to follow him ... refused. He had TOO MUCH of the world.

'' You shall love the Lord , your God with all your heart , with all your soul , and with all your mind ''. V38 This is the first and great commandment. Refers to the EXODE 20: 1- 11 ( the first group of four )

Matt 22 : 39 ... '' And the second is like it : you shall love your neighbor as yourself ''.

V40... '' On these TWO commandments hang all the LAW and the Prophets''.

That saying... express and talks about the six other commadments of EXO 20 : 12- 17 and Lev. 19: 18

Some people say that the Law has been crucified on the cross with Jesus. Now stands only TWO commandments.

These people should read closer the scriptures in the Bible. It is TWO groups of instructions from God.

Mt 5 : 17 Jesus said he didn't come to destroy the LAW but to FULFILL.

Many make statuettes , paintings or any other representations of what is prohibited in EX 20 : 1 - 6.

The day they will see the real THINGS as they are , it will not look like their WORKS of their hands.(human fabrications ).

We should worship GOD in spirit and not with THINGS , or representations.

Another example : Ex 20 : 8 Remembering the Sabbath day. Lot of people forgot about that 4 th commandment and observe the first day of the week instead of the 7 th as instructed by GOD in Ex. 20 : 8 and LEV 23 : 3 and Ex 31 : 12 - 17 .

Even at Jesus' return , Jesus spoke in Matt 24 : 20 the Sabbath still IS .

Imagine in ZAC 8 : 23 The prophecy about all the nations going to Jerusalem to see the Eternal God and they will GRASP the sleeve of a jewish man, saying :

'' Let us go with you , for we have heard that GOD is with you ''. That explains that JEWS will have kept the LAW of the ten commandments in their writings( Torah)

They finally ( JEWS ) will have turned towards JESUS , Yeshuah for Salvation. Look at the expression : '' the sleeve of a jew ...''

This is an expression and described in NOM 15 : 37 - 39 Remembering the COMMANDMENTS hidden in the corner of the jewish garments.

The apostle PAUL spoke about the LAW in ROM 7 : 7 The law shows us what is bad and what is good.

Do we have TOO much of the world : Cars, houses , domains, condos, boat, airplanes, jobs & proud governing SEATS , powers... $$$$$$ etc...

We , as christians , are encouraged of getting closer to the LAW of GOD and try to live according to it. We should avoid doing and thinking like this rich young man asking Jesus what to do to have the Eternal Life. Living with THESE instructions from God , there would be peace on earth. NO MOR WARS.
