It will not happen in 2008. Too many details that would be left out, should it be this year.
 
Matthew 24 is speaking about the nation of Israel's total generation. Not at all about man's adult life, which is forty. They had their adolescent life up to thirty. If you are familiar with King David's age, he was not made king until he was thirty, nor did Jesus begin his ministry until he was thirty. Back then, you were not even held accountable for sin until you were 20, and not mature until you were thirty. So then add the forty years as an adult and you get 70.
 
Besides that lines up with so many important details in God's plan and timing, absolutely leaves nothing undone.  See Steve Berryman's post. It is long and detailed, but comes out right. God taught me the simplified version of His plan because it is basic, quick, and easy for the church to understand.  Most of the church will not take the time for long and complicated subjects no matter how right they are. Therefore they miss a lot of great detail. We are way too busy these days.
