"Presidential prophesies"

Dear friends:

Over the past 15 years or so, as I have observed, there have been numerous prophecies, visions and dreams that have failed in their attempts to forecast the future.  If I did not know what the Scriptures say, I could become cynical.

There seems to be two kinds of prophets: (1) the "happy times" prophets, who assume God will wink at the nation's abominations and everything will keep getting better and better, and (2) the prophets of judgment, gloom, and doom.  Take your choice.  Of course, we prefer the former, but world and national conditions scream at us the latter.

With this election year, there have been prophecies hinting who might win.  Below are a few:

WILLIAM BRANHAM
1933
The other day I received an e-mail devotional which in part said, "I got an email from a minister friend of mine whose father used to be the pastor of William Branham's Church.  She reminded me that Branham had prophesied that it would be during the time of a woman President that the judgment would fall on America. "  I checked and his Web site does say that, repeatedly.  It is at http://www.williambranham.com/call_her_president_hillary_r-o-d-h-a-m_3.html . The late William Branham was a controversial figure and has been charged with heresies, but it appears God's hand was strongly on him.

C. ALAN MARTIN
1971
Vision of 12 houses, each representing an American President.
Bill Clinton was # 10.  For House # 12 (the last President), he says:
"I was standing among these rock looking at the ruins of a world rocked by the tribulation. In the ruins of these boulders I found a witch doll. I knew immediately that on of the reasons that the USA was judged was because she had gone after the occult and witchcraft."
See http://www.stevequayle.com/News.alert/04_Prophetic/040610.12.houses.html

Martin does not specify race or gender, but as soon as I saw the word "witchcraft," I immediately remembered a photo I have of Hillary Clinton when  younger being prayed over by a shaman (witch doctor).  A witchcraft spirit could have entered her at that time.

KIM CLEMENT
March 5, 2002
"It shall come to pass that I will take the African-American race, the people that have a strong leaning towards a spiritual life, and I will do something special for them because I have told you I will raise up an African-American president of the United States of America.  I will put within him the wisdom of God and the power to be able to negotiate and take this nation into a higher level of authority and power."  And God said, “That dream is about to come to pass.  I’m going to take the spirit of prejudice and racism that has endeavored to stay in certain states and cities, I am going to take it and pull it down.  I will cause those that have been oppressed to become leaders.  I am going to cause your slaves to become princes because," the Lord says, "this is a day for us to stand together.  Unity has not been a mark in this nation except at the beginning.”  The Lord says, “Now, you are going to see a unity on this nation.  It is the United States of America." "Therefore," God says, "it shall be united..."  Source:  http://www.kimclement.com/words/2002March/March52002.html / - TBN Broadcast

(If Clement is a true prophet, which is questionable in my mind, this sounds like good news for Obama.)

God says "A President that I will bring into the White House--they will say he is ungodly--he does not know God. Even as Jesus disguised Himself for the great feasts, so I've disguised this man's heart. When he comes to the White House, not only shall he be Mine, but he shall pray as a man that has never prayed in the White House. That same man shall put his feet onto this platform. They will say, how did this take place? Laws shall change. Young men and young women will have access into the Kingdom and with authority into politics and with authority into the industries that now have been controlled by darkness because of this man that shall rule for two terms. Do not fear; there will be no unnecessary stuff. There will be things that men shall question. Fear not, for he shall sit in that seat, and suddenly My Spirit shall come upon him and baptize him with a fire and with anointing," says the Spirit of the Lord. "No more war. The time for war has gone. The time for Peace has come. The House that you call White shall receive a man, a knight, who fought for you in your nights."

(Frankly, I  must say that I have never been comfortable with Kim Clement's "happy times" prophecies, but I may be  wrong.  For example, above he says, "No more war. The time for war has gone. The time for Peace has come."  That will not happen until Jesus comes at the end of the Tribulation.)

So here we have prophets hinting that the winner with be Hillary, or Obama, and that the next President may be the last.  Of course, several years ago Benny Hinn prophesied that George W. Bush would be the last American President.  That could still be true, if the rapture happens before January 2009, which is very possible.

Bad news for Republicans.  No one is prophesying that a Republican will be the next President.  Maybe that is because all the Republican candidates will have been raptured!  Even McCain?  :)

Stay tuned...
