I have been sharing with you all my thoughts on our trials and sufferings through the Book of Job. And what it appears Job was called on to be, a major player in a Cosmic Battle between God and satan over the divine issue of faith. Would Job's faith stay strong in his time of adversity, or would his faith crumble and fallWhat is important to understand is the whole point of this Cosmic Wager, which was to keep Job in the dark. If God had delivered an inspiring pep talk - " do this for me Job, as a Knight of Faith, as a martyr" - then Job, realizing what was going on, would have gladly suffered. But satan had challenged whether Job's faith could survive with no outside help or explanation. When God accepted those terms in this Cosmic Wager, the dark fog rolled in and around suffering Job
As we now know, God ultimately "won" the heavenly contest of faith. Though Job lashed out with lots of questions and complaints, still he defiantly refused to give up his faith in God. Job kept his faith and believed when there was no reason to believe. He believed in the midst of the dark fog. Job's faith became a Light in the Dark Night of his soul
This is the kind of faith that God seems to value. Faith that remains strong when He stays silent and the fog rolls in. Job became a Survivor of the Fog. He joined many of the bible greats listed in Hebrews Chapter 11 - the Faith Hall of Fame. Many of those listed in Hebrews Ch 11 went through terrible suffering- prisons, floggings, torture, chains, stonings, being homeless and hungry. They were also Lights in the Dark Night. Their faith remained strong dispite severe adversity and suffering
Are you going through a Dark Night of your Soul time right now ? Are you wondering just where is God in your time of suffering ? Have you been, like Job, a faithful servant but yet find yourself in a Black Hole of trial and hardship that you just can't explain. Then welcome to the club. Any Christian believer in Jesus Christ i know of who has a major Divine Calling on their lives has been in the Black Hole of adversity. And has experienced a Job Journey. Keep your faith strong, be a Light in the Dark Night in your desert wanderings and God will bring you out into the Daylight
always remember that God has a wonderful and exciting divine plan for your life. Give Him time to put it all together. He loves you and will always be with you, no matter what your going through !!!
have a blessed day, Gary
