In modern parlance ...' Entropy is a measure of the the spreading out
of energy' ... i.e. the more spread out the energy, the greater the
entropic content of that energy.

But to spread out that energy, (in all irreversible processes), takes
WORK, (which 'work' is then transformed into that increased entropy),
... and when it does ... that WORK is often for a purpose where that
extra work done is not wasted ... but produces/serves the desired
goal.

For a modern 'everyday' example, consider a refrigerator:

1. Work is done, (energy is used), to compress a gas, thereby
DECREASING THE ENTROPY of that gas, restricting it's energy carriers,
i.e. the gas molecules, into a much smaller space ...

2. Then ... that highly compressed gas is allowed to rapidly (and
freely) expand into a very much larger (and into a very much lower gas
pressure) space ... So now, there is a tremendous INCREASE IN ENTROPY
in that gas... i.e. it's energy is (almost freely) 'spread out' over
all that large new space ... so the average energy content (of the
formerly compressed gas), per unit of space, suddenly drops, ... i.e.
its temperature drops. NOTE: temperature is really just a measure of
the average kinetic energy of that distribution of gas molecules.

3. Note that the work done to compress the gas in the first place,
... that that work (is structured in the fridge to give off) ... gives
off a lot of HEAT into the room ... whereas, the expanded and thusly
then cooled gas, will take in the heat from the interior of the
refrigerator ... So we, by this INTELLIGENT DESIGN and STRUCTURE, and
using the properties and laws of all created matter ... may
effectively pump HEAT from a colder space, the interior of the fridge,
into a hotter space, the room, by doing a lot of work via the electric
motors and compressors, ... and via the STRUCTURE of that
INTELLIGENTLY DESIGNED fridge ... BECAUSE, 'HEAT (on its own) ALWAYS
FLOWS FROM THE HOTTER TO THE COLDER.'

The (created) importance of entropy in communication ... i.e. passing
on information adequately ...
 

The extra letters may serve as a 'buffer' to help retain the desired
effect of the message ... i.e. the real idea to be communicated ...
 

Thus ... the 'real' message ... is 'spread out' among many (extra)
letters ... so that if in passing on the message, a few letters may be
scrambled, or dropped, or corrupted ... still, the exact, or even the
intent of the original message may be adequately known ...

So ...

BY DESIGN,

NO WORK (i.e. energy) is wasted in creating (an increase in) entropy ...
 

This also seems to be the case in our DNA ...
(and it also carries over somewhat even into our protein structures)

Note the spreading out of the 3 DNA base pair codes for the amino
acids ...  Recall that the sequence order of the 4 letter alphabet of
the 4 base pairs, that code, in groups of three in the DNA, ... each
group of 3 coding for one of the 20 amino acids ... recall that this
sequence of each triplet of 3 bases ... that THIS is what CODES FOR
the sequence of amino acids that make up all our proteins, ... of
which there are many types: like skin, hair, and muscle ... some
information processing ... some energy processing ... and some to aid
in growth and reproduction ... and all the many varied enzymes, that
so regulate, and permit to happen, all the the chemical reactions
necessary to life.

Yes ... even entropy was made to praise the Lord.  Even the rocks and
the stones ... crying out loud!
