"Proverbs 30 - things too wonderful"

…time is short

Blessings,

Blue marks my commentary.

Notice that 30 is the age Jesus started his ministry and 33 is his death.

Proverbs 30

The Words of Agur

Agur means the Gatherer

 1The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, the oracle. The man declares to Ithiel, to Ithiel and Ucal:

A message of humility and desire of heart to please the Lord

    2Surely I am more (A)stupid than any man,
         And I do not have the understanding of a man.
    3Neither have I learned wisdom,
         Nor do I have the (B)knowledge of the Holy One.
    4Who has (C)ascended into heaven and descended?
         Who has gathered the (D)wind in His fists?
         Who has (E)wrapped the waters in His garment?
         Who has (F)established all the ends of the earth?
         What is His (G)name or His son's name?
         Surely you know!
    5Every (H)word of God is tested;
         He is a (I)shield to those who take refuge in Him.
    6(J)Do not add to His words
         Or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.
    7Two things I asked of You,
         Do not refuse me before I die:
    8Keep deception and lies far from me,
         Give me neither poverty nor riches;
         Feed me with the (K)food that is my portion,
(be satisfied and thankful for God’s provision)
    9That I not be (L)full and deny (M)You and say, "Who is the LORD?"
         Or that I not be (N)in want and steal,
         And (O)profane the name of my God.
    10Do not slander a slave to his master,
         Or he will (P)curse you and you will be found guilty.

Notice later the Slave is exalted.  10 is the number for ordinal completion.

    11There is a [a]kind of man who (Q)curses his father
         And does not bless his mother.

11 & 22 are the numbers for the Great Separation.  This kind will be cut off.  This also refers to God & Holy Spirit.

    12There is a kind who is (R)pure in his own eyes,
         Yet is not washed from his filthiness.

Reference to Laodecia – clean in their own eyes, but poor and naked.

    13There is a kind--oh how (S)lofty are his eyes!
         And his eyelids are raised in arrogance.
    14There is a kind of man whose (T)teeth are like swords
         And his (U)jaw teeth like knives,
         To (V)devour the afflicted from the earth
         And the needy from among men.
    15The leech has two daughters,
         "Give," "Give."
         There are three things that will not be satisfied,
         Four that will not say, "Enough":
    16(W)Sheol, and the (X)barren womb,
         Earth that is never satisfied with water,
         And fire that never says, "Enough."

Death/Resurrection (Sheol), Birth/Barren (Barren Womb), Earth/water – flood, Fire/God’s final wrath

    17The eye that (Y)mocks a father
         And (Z)scorns a mother,
         The (AA)ravens of the valley will pick it out,
         And the young (AB)eagles will eat it.

The end of the rebellion

    18There are three things which are too wonderful for me,
         Four which I do not understand:
    19The way of an (AC)eagle in the sky,
         The way of a serpent on a rock,
         The way of a ship in the middle of the sea,
         And the way of a man with a maid.

Eagle in the sky is Rapture (Enoch), Serpent on the rock is Satan in the Antichrist on this earth, the ship in the sea is those preserved through the tribulation (Noah) and the way of man with a maid is the marriage.

    20This is the way of an (AD)adulterous woman:
         She eats and wipes her mouth,
         And says, "I have done no wrong."

False religion and this world is the adulterous woman

    21Under three things the earth quakes,
         And under four, it cannot bear up:

Sign of the end

    22Under a (AE)slave when he becomes king,
         And a fool when he is satisfied with food,

A slave becomes a king – the last shall be first, God exalts his elect.  A fool satisfied with flesh (Esau).  Great Separation # 22.

    23Under an unloved woman when she gets a husband,
         And a maidservant when she supplants her mistress.

Unloved woman is the bride and she will be married to the exalted slave, who is now king.  The rebellious woman will be forsaken.

    24Four things are small on the earth,
         But they are exceedingly wise:
    25The (AF)ants are not a strong people,
         But they prepare their food in the summer;

Preparation for tribulation – summer, heat

    26The (AG)shephanim are not mighty people,
         Yet they make their houses in the rocks;

Run to the mountains, preservation – God is our strong tower

    27The locusts have no king,
         Yet all of them go out in (AH)ranks;

Locusts recognize chain of command and fill their place and role, relates to the Kingdom.

    28The lizard you may grasp with the hands,
         Yet it is in kings' palaces.

The lizard will no longer be a novelty, but serve the King.

    29There are three things which are stately in their march,
         Even four which are stately when they walk:
    30The lion which is (AI)mighty among beasts
         And does not (AJ)retreat before any,
    31The strutting rooster, the male goat also,
         And a king when his army is with him.

The king with his army, the lion, etc. are Jesus’ army coming back to destroy and establish rulership.

    32If you have been foolish in exalting yourself
         Or if you have plotted evil, (AK)put your hand on your mouth.
    33For the churning of milk produces butter,
         And pressing the nose brings forth blood;
         So the churning of (AL)anger produces strife.

Last verses, admonishing wisdom – you reap what you sow.
