Continuing in the "40s" line of thinking....another thought.

 

Israel became a nation again in 1948 as we all know.  19 years later would be the 6 day war in 1967 when the people of Israel would take back Jerusalem....but NOT the Temple Mount.  Though they had control of it, they would give it back a few days later to "keep the peace" with the arab world.....  Now we are approaching 40 years since the 6 day war.  Follow me for a second....

 

As we know in the Bible, because the spies sent into the Promised Land came back with a bad report, 10-2 in favor of NOT entering, God made them wander for 40 years.  1 year for each of the 40 days the spies were scouting out the Promised Land.  IN Numbers 14:29, the Lord says, "all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above....shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.  But your little ones.....shall know the land you have despised."   WOW....

 

Take a moment and think about this....God said everyone age 19 AND UNDER would possess the land. 

 

Now change the words in Numbers 14:29.........   "shall by no means POSSESS THE TEMPLE MOUNT, which I swore I would give to you for the 3rd Temple. But your little ones (19 and under) shall possess this Temple Mount once again....."     Hmmmmmm? 

 

NOw, I'm not a Bible expert....but isn't the 3rd Temple promised/guaranteed/prophesized in the Bible??

 

So, for these past 40 years, has there been peace in Israel?  Certainly not!  By giving BACK the Temple Mount, the past 40 years have been all about giving back land for peace.....and you see how "well" that has worked??

 

I once had dinner with my guide in Israel in Jan. 1998 on a trip with my church.  I said to her: But you are God's chosen people.   Her reply, and I will never forget this....."Let Him choose someone else.  We are tired of being God's chosen people."   Wow........

ps.....did you know......that the 10 spies that voted NOT to go into the land died of the plague soon afterward?

........did you know......that the people of Israel were so despondant they decided to invade the land anyway? But without God's help, they were quickly defeated...thus to wander for 40 years as God had decreed.

I had not remembered this....if in fact it had ever sunk in when I was reading this passage before.
