In the past couple of months, global warming has a been a subject in the headlines. A series of record high temperatures and new predictions about warmer days to come have sent the tree huggers into overdrive.

The records have been rather stunning. We're not just talking about few new highs for some major cities. These weather events have been taking place all over the globe on a gigantic scale. Here is a short list of some of these events:
