"Ezekiel 13:10 - Saying peace and there was no peace"

John and all at Five Doves;

I wanted to share this from my site about this subject of the notion there will be a peace deal and the timing of the Gog/Magog event. I hope this can help clear up some foggy ideas.

Ezekiel 13:10 - Saying peace and there was no peace

I felt it necessary to look at this and attempt to clear this up once and for all. The modern day "scholars" continually say there will be a period of 3 1/2 years of peace in Israel before the "great tribulation" begins. They combine the verses from Ezekiel 13:10 with 1 Thessalonians 5:3 and Ezekiel 38:11 and build a false scenario, which includes the notion of a seven year tribulation period. Hence another reason for so much confusion.

First look with me at the verses then an in depth look at when this all occurs.

Ezekiel 13:10;

Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace ; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:

And verse 16 MUST be placed with this railing admonishment from God against all who prophesy of Israel "SAYING" peace and there is no peace.

16: To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace , saith the Lord GOD .

Now 1 Thssalonians 5:3 but with one twist so conveniently left out by most. That being the preceding verse 2 in which we see the following.

2: For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night .

3: For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them , as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape

Notice the reference to "the day of the Lord cometh as a thief in the night?" Now look with me to Ezekiel 38:11 and we'll see the unwalled villages where Israel is dwelling in safety.

And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely , all of them dwelling without walls , and having neither bars nor gates,

This verse is speaking to the time when God gathers the bands of Gog to come against Israel. He states that Israel is dwelling in safety right? Tie this "day of the Lord" all together with what is seen here and add 2 Peter 3:10 and we see just when "the day of the Lord" is people.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night ; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

And if there is a doubt as to when this is look with me to Revelation 21:1;

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

This all takes place AFTER the 1,000 year reign of Jesus and AFTER the Gog/Magog event seen in Revelation 20:8-10 . The "the day of the Lord" when the old heaven and earth pass away seen in Revelation 21:1 comes AFTER all of this and then there is the white throne judgment THEN the new heaven and earth come.

8: And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9: And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10: And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Revelation 20:11 is the final judgment then all the old is destroyed and the new comes.

And I saw a great white throne , and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away ; and there was found no place for them.

Again the "heaven and earth fled away" and are no more.

And never once does Ezekiel state Gog actually attacks Israel. It only says God gathers them together to encompass Jerusalem and He destroys them. The day being spoken to when Israel will dwell in safety is the 1,000 years Jesus reigns here and just before the Gog/Magog event. Which is also AFTER the 1,000 years. There is one Gog/Magog event folks and it too, is after the 1,000 years just as seen in Revelation 20:7;

And when the thousand years are expired , Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

The key these modern day "prophets" keep leaving out is the statement "the day of the Lord" and Peter clearly stated it is the day the old earth and heaven are melted away with fervent heat and after that God makes a new heaven and earth. Not one day before.

The present day earth and heavens pass away ONE TIME. And that means there is ONE "day of the Lord" when this occurs. Peter named it and it is reiterated in Revelation twice. And it comes after the 1,000 year reign of Jesus on earth.

Perhaps a study of the 21 times "the day of the Lord" is spoken to then one would understand what is going on here.
