Flesh-eating bacteria. Sounds terrible. It is. Bacteria (tiny animals) get into a wound you have and multiply until you have a buzillion beasties feasting on your meat and literally eating you alive. It happened to Tom. Death Of Body.
 
Necrotizing fasciitis is the medical name. It is a form of Group A Strep Bacteria. It is a close relative of the bacteria which causes strep throat and another which causes scarlet fever. The flesh-eating bacteria multiplies extremely fast.
 
Tom's problem began with an ingrown hair. The infection had grown for four days when a doctor diagnosed it as gangrene. Surgery followed quickly and necrotizing fasciitis/flesh-eating bacteria was discovered. The surgery enabled the bacteria to get into Tom's veins and arteries and multiply rapidly in all of his body. Doctors said his body died during the operation.
 
Tom's case was reported by the TV station and newspaper in his medium size city and also by a major network TV news in Columbus, Ohio. Tom and his mother are active CHRISTians including hosting a regular TV program on cable TV. Prayer chains of people across USA and in Canada were praying for Tom beginning before he went into the hospital. CHRISTian TV included a streamer at the bottom of the TV screen which said: "PLEASE PRAY FOR TOM BECKEL. DOCTORS HAVE GIVEN UP ALL HOPE."..."PLEASE PRAY FOR TOM BECKEL. DOCTORS HAVE GIVEN UP ALL HOPE.".
 
I have visited Tom twice, his mother once, and we have talked several times by telephone. I have interviewed other people in the community. Tom's body did die. Tom did not die. One doctor told Tom's mother Tom wouldn't live. No person with flesh eating bacteria in their bloodstream had ever survived. Tom was kept in the hospital 28 days which shows how radically serious all of this was medically. None of this mattered because Father YAHWEH hears the prayers of His children. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for miracles today.
