"(Let him who reads, UNDERSTAND)"

When our Lord mentioned the abomination of desolation, as an outstanding event, a sign, to watch, and to heed,,,,,,,,,he made a strange remark, above,,,"(let him who reads, UNDERSTAND)", the statement being parenthetical in the passage.  Seems to me that He may have been indicating that there would be more than one group to whom the warning may have significance, pointing to an "understanding" of Daniel's prophecy, from differing viewpoints or points of vantage.
This, may mean that the church itself, as well as Israel, may have its own abomination of desolation, which will be seen, and heeded, or "UNDERSTOOD".
That said,,,,,,this Jesus Burial Tomb book and movie produced by J. Cameron, is just that,,,,a true abomination of desolation, for us, Christians. Our Lord said in effect, "be ready to leave",,,when we see this marker, this abomination.   Also there would be "overspreading of abominations", indicated by Daniel,,,for both Israel, and the church I believe.
The Israelites "encamped" three days before the raging and overflowing River Jordan, and then the "officers" went through the camp, and told them to "get ready".  And Joshua told them to sanctify themselves, for the next day's crossing over the dry river bed.
I see this as exactly where we are.....encamped before the raging waters of the overspreading river of "judgment",,,,the Jordan River.
The abomination of desolation for Israel, is when the man of sin, occupies the temple, and calls himself, God.   Our abomination of desolation will be similar....when "man" boasts that our Lord was a fraud,,,that our Lord did not resurrect, that the Word of God is not to be believed, and that we as Christians are the most silly of all fools.   This is "man", who occupies our own Temple, of worship, and praise, which we offer to our Lord.  And "man", who diminishes God to nothing, and exalts himself.....................

Jesus told His deciples before He offerred Himself on the cross, that "I will be REJECTED by this generation", and that would usher in the age of the church.   We are of Him, of His Body, we are "In Him", therefore we are all part of His Body.   We, as a whole Body of Christ, will also be "rejected" by the last generation, before the dispensation turns back to God's dealing with Israel.   At that time, Christ's rejection, led to His death and resurrection.   At this time, His whole Body, will be resurrected.  And surely as we look around, this rejection is taking place.
Rumor had it that the Titanic was "unsinkable", and that there was great pride in the engineering of the ship, and boasting of its size and features.   The same movie producer who showed the world the movie "Titanic",,,now presents to the world this "abomination of desolation".   I have often mused about the pride, and boasting that took place back in the early 1900's, yet God, who will debase all pride,,,saw that that ship, sank, on April 14-15, in 1912.   I have often thought, that that ship is somehow related to the rising swell of pride that we see around us today,,,and the amazing lack of "the FEAR of the Lord",,,that we see around us...........................few survived the ship's sinking,,,,,
Meanwhile, I certainly see this new revelation about this tomb of Jesus, as clearly as I can see my hands.......as an "abomination of desolation" for us.  BE READY TO FLEE, DOVES !  EVEN FROM YOUR ROOFTOPS !
abundant blessings from your sister in Christ,,,,,,,,,,,Arlene
