"The EAST:"
East
Because as fallen creatures
we stand in darkness, East is the direction to face, if we have a desire
to see the light of the rising sun. And as Jesus is the light of this world
the natural sun symbolizes the One True Light - the "Sun of Righteousness
(Mal. 4:2). This is also confirmed in the New Testament by the Magi who
sought to find the True King. They saw the star in the East and followed
it (Matt. 2:2). Even the Garden was placed at the East of the land of Eden
(Gen. 2:8). And after man had fallen, cherubs were placed at the East as
guards to the only way leading to that tree of life (Gen 3:24). Years later,
Abraham pitched his tent with his face toward the East, the quarter of
grace, with his back to the west, and all the world had to offer (Gen 25:6).
Later still, the entrance of both the tabernacle and the temple were fixed
by God on the East. And on His return, it shall again be from the East
that the glory of God returns to the Jewish temple (Ezek. 43:1-4). Those
found in the vanguard of God's camp have always been found either facing
or going to the East - toward the rising of the Sun. Who are these? They
are of the tribe of Praise - Judah. These are always positioned toward
the East, and rising of the Sun (Num. 2:3).
