In reference to the 144,000 all being "male" virgins...the following article by Dr. Stephen Jones provides some interesting insights.  The term "virgin" is never applied to men, anywhere in scripture.  A detailed word study will bring some further understanding into the identity of the 144,000.  Kathryn LeCorre
