"Re: Donna's Prayer Request"

There have been many news articles out by now of how an Ohio Company has had its workers take the subdermal VeriChip to interact with the VeriGuard Security Access System.

As you read the story below, it gives one the impression that chip-accessing is quite common, though from all accounts only 24 people took it in Mexico for accessing
[ Katherine Albrecht personally researched this] ,  and only two employees at CityWatch in Cincinnati.
No mad dash as of yet.

The article claims that  70 people have taken the chip here in the states ( a mere scarcity ) and they admit most are from Applied Digital, Digital Angel and Verichip Companies ( plus the Jacobs family, Dr. Seelig, Dr. Halamka and various others.)

The article boasts of 2,000 patrons taking the chip at the Barcelona and Rotterdam night clubs, yet THAT chip is a pre-paid debit account, and not the real-time 666 global financial chip applicable all over the world wherever there is a Point of Sale ( POS), yet to come.
So there's a lot of leaven in this loaf of bread.

They claim that this chipping system is over 30 years old, but alpha sure ain't beta in the R and D world , and the road has been long and slow . In fact, the VeriPay System announced in November of 2004 hasn't even been actualized yet as a global payment system. So in reality, the chip-financial payment system is still 0 years old, though animals have been chipped for just over a decades.
All chips are not the same, though this article would have one come to that conclusion.
Maybe a lot of hype within the type.

Another "disinformation" is that the VeriChip is FDA approved. It is ONLY approved in the arm for medical purposes. It is NOT approved anywhere else for any other purposes as of yet . They even state this in their by-lines that it is not approved for financial purposes.

"VeriChip is not an FDA-regulated device with regard to its security, financial, personal identification or safety applications

If popular, the success of the medical applications of the VeriChip may herald further uses for security, identification and e-commerce"

Could placing the chip in the hand or forehead be a little more riskier ? Perhaps so.

So far, 65 hospitals have signed up with the VeriMed electronic medical records  EMR system.

Something to consider:  Tommy Thompson still has not taken the chip, though he is a high-profile spokes-person from the Board of VeriChip. A good hunch is that he is waiting for the 666 global financial system to be in place so that he will have only one chip in his body ( either in the right hand or in the forehead) ...and not another one in his arm besides.

Here is the article:

"His glee is not shared by workplace and privacy experts, who shudder at the idea that Corporate America might decide to brand employees with the latest technology, known as Radio Frequency Identification Device.

"This may be appropriate for cattle, pets or packages, but for humans it is a very different issue," said Lee Tien, an attorney for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a technology and civil liberties group in San Francisco, Calif." .....

Paula Brantner, an attorney for Workplace Fairness, a workers' advocacy group in San Francisco, said she expected workers would resent having chips placed under their skin.

"This is incredible. It raises something out of `1984.' It is a very invasive way of keeping tabs on your workers," she said.
