We’re pleased to announce the addition of the “Family Watchdog” service to our website.  This can be found on the Home Page of the site (www.revelationfiles.com), about half-way down the left side....

Our children are one of our greatest resources, and keeping them safe is of paramount importance to all of us who are parents.  With increasing media attention on sexual predators and the propensity for sexual offenders to repeat, it is a necessity to know if there are persons of interest living near your home, school, or church that could do harm to your children (or you) in the future.

Simply enter your address into the site and a map will appear with a “house” in the middle of the map.  This is YOUR house.  Any little colored boxes near your home are registered sex offenders.  Click on their “house” and you can obtain their name, a picture, and a description of their crime.  It also discloses their proximity to your home and the local schools.

We showed this to a local family who lived in an apartment complex and when they entered their address, they discovered a convicted child molester lived in the same apartment complex they lived in and had seen this individual interacting with their children (and others) at the playground area of the apartment complex.  Now their children don’t play outside without adult supervision while they search for another place to live.

Are we doing this out of fear?  No.  We are being watchmen on the wall, providing a tool you can use to better protect your family from those who have harmed others in the past.   As a former youth pastor, I have counseled young teens who have been raped or sexually assaulted in the past.  I’ve seen lives devastated and done my part (with the help of the Holy Spirit) to help them pick up the pieces of their lives.   Had a service like this been available, some of these instances may have been avoided.

At present, this service is only available for US residents.  Should this be expanded to include other countries, we’ll do our best to add these services to the site as well.
