"Bush, Cheney and The Middle East"

Hi John & All:

First of all, I want to let Stephen Yulish know how much I have appreciated his testimony. For those of you who haven't read it, I would urge you to go to the Five Doves home page, and check out the story entitled: "KKK". To make it easier, you can simply click the link below:

I could really identify with Stephen's testimony, since my background also is that of a history prof and writer. It really spoke to me personally in many ways (the details of which aren't necessary), and was a blessing to me.

On another topic ....

I really enjoyed Jim Bramlett's article yesterday, concerning the Port situation, and Bush threatening to veto any legislation going against his decision. It casts a whole new light on Bush's comments over the past few years that Islam is a "peaceful religion", his visits to Islamic mosques, as well as his celebration of Islamic feasts in the White House, with members of the Islamic community.

With each passing day, the events of 9-11 are looking less and less like that of an unassisted, muslim terrorist attack. God bless all of the men and women in uniform, but you have to ask yourself why the U.S. military is being emptied into an apparently untenable situation in the middle-east, while the President insists the U.S. ports be guarded by that same devlish Islamic spirit of which the U.S. is presently at war. Reserve levels appear to be so depleted there will almost have to be a draft initiated, especially if there is any substance to those drums of war which are begining to echo, over Iran and Syria.

In regards to why the press is paying so much attention to Cheney's accidental hunting accident, over Iraq's transfer of WMD into Syria -- well that's a really deep question. Compared to what's transpiring in the Middle-East, the Cheney shooting IS clearly inconsequential (by comparison).

The whole point of the U.S. invasion of Iraq was because it was purported that Saddam Hussein harbored weapons of mass destruction. Prior to this invasion, it became public knowledge that said WMDs were being transported out of the target country (Iraq), and into Syria. I can remember reading the stories online. According to Jim's article by Kenneth R. Timmerman, the White House had to have full knowledge of what was transpiring.

So the question that begs to be asked is: Why did the White House continue on with its invasion plans for Iraq, if the whole raison d'etre was now sitting safely tucked inside Syrian and Lebanese borders? Have over two thousand soldiers died just to capture Saddam Hussein, and watch his comical Barnum & Bailey trial, where judges are quitting and lawyers are being murdered? What is the real purpose behind the U.S. military presence in the Middle-East?

It's not a rhetorical question. Just one that deserves a truthful answer.

In my opinion, I think it goes without saying that it would be entirely insane at this point in history, to accept ANY world leader's dissertation at face-value.

Jesus is coming soon.

See ya in the air,

Eric
