Inspite of the Hamas victory, and the threat of another intifada, Olmert continues to escalate the evacuations of settlement territories. Jews in Israel are rapidly being outnumbered by Arabs. If Israel did not become a separate state, they would eventually be voted out of power, being outnumbered by the Arabs. They would be faced with a loss of control of anything in Israel. Apparently, this is why Israel has done an about face on this issue. They WANT to split the land and put up a wall to keep Arabs out of their territories and keep Israel as a world safe haven for Jews."...Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, once a stalwart defender of settlers, has seen the Gaza disengagement as a necessary step to keep Israel secure. The disengagement is also considered demographically necessary. The Arab population is growing, and many Israelis argue that the only way to keep Israel a Jewish state is to separate from the Arab population...."
Interesting insight, that seems to make some rational sense out of Israeli leadership's headlong dash to evict Jews from Gaza and other settlement areas. It lacks faith in God and His prophetic promises. But apparently, there is a method to their madness other than just financial gain from the U.S., as some have put forward......or worse some wacky faith in a dream of living side-by side with the P.A. in true PEACE, if the P.A. is appeased enough.
We know that God is not pleased with this course of action.
