The
Looming Crisis with Iran
When
I started writing the book, Signs of the End, most of the events
transpiring today were not in view. I make mention in the book that as we
come closer to the fall of 2006 we should see events lining up as the Day
approaches. These were namely things associated with the war of Gog and
Magog and the pact of nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39. It would seem
that as of February 3, 2006 (four years after my first draft) that the drum
beats are sounding and that history previously seen by Ezekiel is indeed
the revelation of God. And not that it was ever really in question.
Iran
(Persia)
is the second nation listed in Ezekiel and has made their intentions well
know concerning the United States
and Israel.
The artwork behind the Iranian president clearly depicted a cracked USA
“egg” with a falling “egg” of Israel
above it. Israel
is seen falling in the hourglass to soon find itself being cracked or destroyed,
but after the United States.
This is what I find alarming, that in Iran’s
thought the USA
must be dealt with first to secure their plans for the destruction of Israel. But how could they do that?
Those who are following these events probably
already know about Iran’s
probable plans for an EMP attack on the USA.
Our government is aware of this. This attack is the detonation of one or
a couple of nuclear warheads high above the US
to knock out all of our unprotected electronics. This electromagnetic pulse
fries our equipment within a certain range. Most scenarios put one explosion over the
lower Midwest to provide a knockout to two-thirds
of our country. Power would
be gone and most of our machines would be ruined. Our infrastructure would
be toast. Suddenly an internal crisis would draw our primary attention away
from Iran
and the Middle East. Hurricane Katrina would pale
in comparison. Effectively, America
would be neutralized.
This
scenario seems the most probable because Iran
is in a race for nuclear weapons, but more importantly that they have already
tested detonating missiles high above the Caspian Sea.
There may be other scenarios, but what is concerning is that some event
may soon occur in America to reduce it to the nation we see in Ezekiel that
offers only verbal protest to Russia, Iran, and all of the other nations
sweeping into Israel. If the
Magog War is to occur within a year (the scenario in Signs of the End)
the tests for America
may be sooner than most people think. The events scheduled for March are
particularly alarming. In the latter part of March Iran
is scheduling a nuclear test (before March 20), Israel
will be holding elections (March 28), and just before the Jewish Religious
New Year a total solar eclipse crosses Africa, Europe
and Asia (March 29). It would seem that if Iran
was to do something, and with the element of surprise, it would need to
come soon. If the eclipse is significant, we will have to wait and see as
current events unfold.
My
concern is that soon we may be in crisis mode. The thought that the Rapture will
preclude any severe difficulty could be wrong and probably is. It would
be nice if Iran
was contained until after the Rapture (and hopefully it is), but the benefit
of a crisis may be that more people will be exposed to the truth before
they could have been left behind and face even greater peril. There will
not be a large scale revival at the conclusion of the Church, but we must
be ready for any opportunity to "speed along" the fullness of the Gentiles.
Though we see the day approaching, we must be ready for a crisis, have
the answers to questions many people may soon be asking, and provided a
legacy to those left behind. My prayer is that this book is a part of that
legacy.
