Where was Daniel when King Nebuchadnezzar commanded “O people, nations and languages, that at what time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye shall fall down and worship the golden image that I, Nebuchadnezzar, have set up”?

He was probably “sitting in the gate of the king”.  Daniel 2:49.  He was not apparently subject to this evil king’s edict.  We know that there was “no fault” found in Daniel; he was a man of prayer and very high integrity.  I think that Daniel is a type of Christian Bride, who will be raptured before the time of Great Tribulation.  Daniel was sitting “in heavenly places at the Eternal King’s Gate” while his friends had to go through “the fiery furnace” of tribulation.  These three men are probably representative of those nominal Christians who are left behind at the rapture of the Bride.  These three men seemed committed to God, but they apparently lacked the purity and devotion of Daniel, because Daniel was a higher government official than his friends.

In Exodus 13:2 we read that “all the firstborn of the womb among the children of Israel” belonged to the LORD.  Then in Exodus 13:12 we read that “you should set apart unto the LORD all that open the matrix of the firstling” shall be the LORD’s.  Here we see “womb” and “matrix” used interchangeably. 

“Matrix” (Strong’s #7358) has a numerical value of 248 by addition and a value of 64 by multiplication.  “Mem”(40) + “Cheyth”(8) + “Reysh”(200) = 248.

We know that 248 = 2 ^3 times 31.  31 means “offspring or seed”.  We know that Jesus is the “Seed” which had been promised to Abraham. (Galatians 3:16).  Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God, the First Born.  He is the Righteous One who was set apart unto the LORD.

When we take the numerical value of “matrix” = 248 and multiply out these digits, we get the value of 64 = Greek value of “Truth”.  Jesus said, “I Am the Way, The Truth and The Life”.
