"RE:  "pls. pls pray for Terri Schiavo!!""

From the Feb 23rd post:

http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/feb2005/1cor1031-223.htm

I heard it on the news today myself, that Terri's husband as soon as he can legally do so plans to starve his wife to death.  Being moved the first week of this very month to participate (in part) in the pain that Terri felt during his first attempt which lasted six days without food or water for Terri, I went without food of any kind from Sunday evening to Friday evening, which is a total of only five days.  I just didn't have the will power to go the sixth day.  And then I didn't do a true "Terri's Fast" because I did drink water each day.  I know we are supposed to fast in secret:

That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.  Matthew 6:18

But this is more about my failings at a "Terri's Fast" than anything else and I would not recommend anyone trying a true "Terri's Fast" because I had heard that we normally can't go without water for more than around 3 days.  We are not to tempt the Lord our God even though He offers us protection from many things, and obviously did Terri in her case.

It did help me to identify in a small part with the pain she went through the first time though.  If only her husband would voluntarily try a "Terri's Fast" before he forces another one upon her.  We can only pray.

I had also planned on responding to another post made on Five Doves as follows:

Per Paul Wilson's October 24th, 2003 post:  "If terri is killed Let God stike America down now"

http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/oct2003/paulw1024-2.htm

for America has sold her soul and is now as bad as Sodom and Gomorrah before their destruction he spared not them why should he spare the US. Oh Lord strike this nation that once loved you but now shows nothing but hatred for you.

Paul

My response was going to be, but now is 489 days later, that I call on everyone else to join me in prayer to not hold all of America accountable for what a few people have done and are trying to do.  Look at the loud cry that has gone up from many righteous people instead.  They have seen the great evil of lies built upon lies to build a fictitious case to justify murdering an innocent person and have cried out.  We may feel helpless but instead of praying against our nation we should be praying for our nation.  Consider that good folks acting righteously in Florida have passed a law, signed by the Governor, reinstating her right to live.  Do not focus on how a few unelected officials in the justice system have unjustly thwarted the will of the people of Florida.  Instead, forgive us our sins.  But not my will but Thy will be done.  If it is indeed Your will to do as Paul Wilson has stated, then just as with Noah and with Lot, I pray that you save Your people from this hour of Your destruction.

May Your will be done.

Selah.
