"CAPS (18 Feb 2005)"

Hi John and Doves,

This is in response to CAPS post of 18 Feb.

Has anyone considered the possibility that Gog and Magog attacking an Israel of unwalled villages (Ezekiel 38) will ultimately happen at the close of the Millenial Kingdom (Rev. 20: 8-10)?

That is not to say that Russia, Iran and Libya and others will not be up to some mischief before the LORD Jesus returns. I believe the first seal has been broken and as the Rider of the White Horse goes forth overcoming that he might overcome, he will spark an opposition which will pull the world into war: The Red Horse.

Has anyone also considered that the peace treaty that Israel ultimately signs might be done in the aftermath of a great world war which has pretty much destroyed many of Israel's active enemies? That she may sign a treaty with the surviving powers world powers, amongst whom she would be considered an equal?

I imagine that once the missiles start to fly, the leaders of Israel might say "nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'" and she might solve the Palestinian-Syrian-Iranian-Saudi Arabian problem with some the weapons from her Dimona plant, leaving enough to be a formidable power in any post-war settlement. She might even give Russia a whack for good measure.  I think I read that Israel recently bought a submarine from the U. S. As a person who has worked in the nuclear war business, I understand that nuclear missile equiped submarines are the avengers of nuclear warfare: They wait submerged till the smoke has cleared, they assess who the responsible enemies are, and then they deliver the avenging strike. With Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile equiped submarines, Israel will have a "Triad" similar to the one which the U.S. and Russia used as an effective nuclear deterent through much of the former Cold War (Triad means nuclear weapons which can be delivered by missile, jet-bomber, and submarine).

At any rate, I think the world could explode any time now. I'm not waiting for a peace treaty, for many of us might not be here to see it get signed.

Eagerly await the coming of the Lord Jesus, my friends.
