You have come to the assembly of God's firstborn children (as in firstfruits?), whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge of all people. And you have come to the spirits of the redeemed in heaven who have now been made perfect (see 11:39 and 40). You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenent between God and people..." NLT...

The "firstborn children" does connect with Pentecost, which is t! he Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Harvest. However, let's examine some other scriptures that could have a bearing on this, and see whether or not Pentecost is meant in Heb. 12:23.

Ex. 23:14-16,20 says, "Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year. Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) And THE FEAST OF HARVEST, THE FIRSTFRUITS of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field (the field is the world, Mt. 13:38): and the feast of ingathering (Tabernacles), which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field. Three items in the year all thy males shall appear before the LORD God....Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into THE PLACE WHICH I HAVE PREPARED" (Heaven, John 14:2).

Moses! played it out for us on Pentecost. Ex. 24:16,18 says, "the glory of t he LORD abode upon mount Sinai (probably from the Sanskrit Sani, Saturn), and the cloud covered it six days (Sivan 1-6); and the SEVENTH DAY (Sivan 7, when Pentecost was fully come, Acts 2:1) HE CALLED UNTO MOSES out of the midst of the cloud....And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights" (reminding us of the 40 days and 40 nights it rained in Noah's day, and the Pre-Trib Rapture is as the days of Noah, Mt. 24:37).

Even the foolish virgins are represented at Pentecost. Lev. 23:17,22 says, "Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves (i.e., both Jews and Gentiles) of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven (baking kills leaven, a symbol of sin); they are THE FIRSTFRUITS UNTO THE LORD....And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt NOT MAKE CLEAN RIDDANCE of the corners of thy field".

"Israel was holiness unto the LORD, ! and the FIRSTFRUITS of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD" (Jer. 2:3).

We are a kind of firstfruits. James 1:18 says, "Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be A KIND OF FIRSTFRUITS of his creatures." I figure we will probably be in the group called the FIRST of the firstfruits. Ex. 23:19 says, "The FIRST OF THE FIRSTFRUITS of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God." To me, that sounds like the FIRST TRUMP, the Pre-Trib Rapture (I Thess. 4:13-18).

At the "last trump" (I Cor. 15:51-53), the Tribulation saints are caught up on the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of God's Wrath, but before the asteroids of Rev. 8:8 and 10 impact Earth at noon. Zeph 2:3-5 says, "Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be HID in the day of the LORD'S anger. For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashk! elon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ek ron shall be rooted up. Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast". The asteroid of Rev. 8:8 will impact the Mediterranean Sea.

Rev. 6:17 says, "the great day of his wrath (the Feast of Trumpets, Joel 2:1-3) is come, and who shall be able to stand? In Rev. 7:1-14, we see that the 144,000 Israelites, plus a great multitude that no man can number are in Heaven. Why are the 144,000 numbered, and the great multitude are not? We find out in Rev. 14:2-5. The 144,000 are wise virgins. They "are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the FIRSTFRUITS unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are WITHOUT FAULT BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD."

As I understand it, there are wise and foolish virgins on Earth at the time of both Raptures, the Pre-Trib and the Pre-Wrath. At the first Rapture, only the wise virgins are caught up. At the Pre-Wrath Rapture, even the foolish virgins! are caught up. All the children are caught up too. Only unbelievers will be left on Earth to have the Wrath of God cast on them.

The wise virgins are part of the Bride of Christ group. On the Feast of Trumpets, the call goes out to gather those that were called up to Heaven at the first Rapture. Mt. 24:30 says, "he shall send his angels with a great sound of a TRUMPET, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of HEAVEN to the other." These that are already in Heaven are called to "THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND CHURCH OF THE FIRSTBORN, WHICH ARE WRITTEN IN HEAVEN, AND TO GOD THE JUDGE OF ALL, AND TO THE SPIRITS OF JUST MEN MADE PERFECT" (Heb. 12.23).

At the same time, the Tribulation saints are called up from the Earth to the GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN HEAVEN. This is the Pre-Wrath Rapture. Mark 13:27 says, "And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the EARTH to ! the uttermost part of HEAVEN."

Therefore, I think the GENERAL A SSEMBLY IN HEAVEN (Heb. 12:23) is on the Feast of Trumpets. It ties in with the FIRST OF THE FIRSTBORN (those wise virgins caught up to Heaven at the first trump, before the Tribulation), because the 144,000 are the last rank of the FIRSTFRUITS (I Cor. 15:23). They are called up to Heaven at the "last trump" (I Cor. 15:51-53).

Rev. 14:4 says of the 144,000, "These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are VIRGINS. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being THE FIRSTFRUITS unto God and to the Lamb."

It looks like none but the 144,000 are THE FIRSTFRUITS at the 2nd Rapture. The firstfruits sing the new song. Rev. 14:3 says of the 144,000, "And they sung as it were a NEW SONG before the throne (the NEW SONG is sung at the 1st Rapture, Rev. 5:9), and before the four beasts, and the elders (caught up in the 1st Rapture, Rev. 4:4): and NO MAN COULD LEARN THAT SONG BUT THE HUNDRED AND FORTY AND! FOUR THOUSAND, which were redeemed from the earth."

Ex. 34:22 says, "And thou shalt observe the FEAST OF WEEKS (PENTECOST), of the FIRSTFRUITS OF WHEAT HARVEST (in the spring), and the feast of ingathering at the year's end." The rest of the wheat is harvested in the summer, before Tabernacles on Tishri 15.

Tishri 1, 5771, the Feast of Trumpets, is Sept. 9, 2010. It is still summer until Sept. 21. I think that will be the day of the Pre-Wrath Rapture and the day of the GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN HEAVEN. All the firstfruits will be there, both the FIRST OF THE FIRSTFRUITS (caught up on Pentecost) AND THE LAST OF THE FIRSTFRUITS (caught up on the Feast of Trumpets). The "last trump" calls up the last rank in the First Resurrection.
