"Treasure discovered!"

Dear friends:

Have you ever felt as though you had discovered buried treasure?  I did today.

From time to time over the years I have recalled the late Pastor Roland Buck of Boise, Idaho, who back around 1977, for a period of two years, had some 16 visitations from angels.  He described his experiences in a book titled "Angels on Assignment."  Back in the mid-1990s while investigating angel encounters, I was able to speak with Pastor Buck's widow.

Well, this morning I received an email about Pastor Buck's experiences from Jim and Marie Watt of "Two Are Better Than One Ministries."  Part of the book is quoted.  But to my sheer delight also included is a link to the entire book which is now on the Web, along with the sequel book, "The Man Who Talked With Angels," written by his daughter, Sharon White.  The site is by Pastor Ted Buck, I am assuming his son, and is at http://www.angelsonassignment.org/ (According to the site's hit counter this morning, I was visitor number 4!  It is not the most popular site on the Web!)

{The above link provides is a .pdf version of the book.  An html version is at  http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:L6ywrVAyi6wJ:www.angelsonassignment.org/pdf/AngelsOnAssignment.pdf+%22Roland+Buck%22+number+121&hl=en&client=firefox-a }

Each of the 16 times the angels came to Pastor Roland Buck, they brought a message from God to the world. Buck said, “If I could put the substance of these messages into one simple phrase, it would have to be, ‘I CARE!’”

To encourage Roland Buck to believe in the integrity of God and His Word, He gave him 120 prophecies that were all fulfilled within a 2 year time frame. An interesting item on the list concerned a Jewish man who owns a great chain of restaurants. Through a beautiful set of circumstances Buck met the man and he accepted Jesus as his Savior. Evidence of his experience was seen by his desire that the hundreds of employees in these restaurants across the country would have the same opportunity. The man said, “Surely God cares as much about these employees as he does about me.”

Concerning the end times and the return of the Lord, Pastor Buck wrote: "Many people have asked me if Gabriel had said anything about the return of Christ.He hadn't, so I asked him if he could tell me anything about it. He replied that Jesus is returning, but the time is something that God has reserved in his own knowledge.Gabriel has access to the timetable on everything else that has been predicted, but God has kept this particular secret to himself. Then he said to me, 'I can tell you this: there has never been such excitement and activity in the courts of heaven since Jesus came the first time as there is right now!'"

I should add that angel encounters and any supernatural experiences should be judged carefully against God's Word, the Bible.  While Pastor Buck's experiences have been widely accepted, as with all things, there are detractors, one of whom is Regent University theologian Dr. J. Rodman Williams, at http://www.regent.edu/acad/schdiv/williams/angels.html  .  I know Dr. Rodman and his wife personally.  We are former neighbors and tennis partners, and I respect him greatly, but I do not necessarily agree with all of his concerns, such as his concern about revelations that are not in Scripture, providing that they are not contrary to Scripture.
