Maybe December 24th isn't Jesus' actual birthday (it's probably more like His conception date, which would be the light come into the world (Hanukkah--the festival of light!), but I, and millions of other Christians, derive a certain amount of comfort, strength, faith renewal, and joy from remembering and celebrating Christ's birth and why He came into this world (my sins).
 
Ditto for the Easter season (Palm Sunday, Maudy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Resurrections Sunday (Easter), Ascension Day, and Pentecost).
 
Fear not!  Occupy.  Look up!
