"Pastor John Hinkle and Thrusday
June, 9th"
Dear John
and Doves,
If anyone has first hand knowledge of Pastor John Hinkle today or his thoughts
about Thursday June 9th, I would be very interested in receiving an update
on him. Since 2005 will be the first time that June the 9th has occurred
on a Thursday since 1994, I have thought about him frequently lately.
I have wondered, if like Dr. Richard Eby, he could have been hearing from
the Holy Spirit but allowed his own interpretation or thoughts to filter
the message.
I was in a Kenneth Hagin Camp Meeting in 1988 when Brother Hagin saw three
angels fly into the meeting one at a time with a message for the America.
All three angels shouted "Change! Change! Change!", along with what was
going to change. The first angel said that there was going to be
a change in the economy for good. The second angel said that there
was going to be political change for good, and the third angel said that
there was going to be spiritual change for good.
That fall we began to see un-thought of political changes with the collapse
of the Eastern block countries and communism. We saw unprecedented
drops in interest rates and the economy boomed during the decade of the
nineties. However, I have not been able to identify a spiritual change.
I was thrilled to hear Pastor John Hinkle describe what was supposed to
happen on Thursday June 9, 2004 because it would have been one dramatic
spiritual change. By then, I had seen the political change and the
economic change and hungrily awaited the spiritual change, but it didn't
happen.
I am still looking for a spiritual change and believe just as Samson (a
type of the church) destroyed more people in his death than he did in his
life, that we will still see a harvest in the church before the rapture
that will exceed the whole church age. There are more people alive
today than all the people put together that have lived during the last
2000 years. As much as I hope that the Lord will return this year,
the church seems to be a long way from being a glorious church without
spot or wrinkle. We need a spiritual change and one will be required
to see the harvest brought in.
As I write this, I hold in my hand a written message by Pastor John Hinkle
in which he presented what he thought the Lord had showed him to his church
on March 3, 1993. He said, "This is the startling message that he
gave me, ON THURSDAY, JUNE THE 9TH, I WILL RIP EVIL OUT OF THIS WORLD.
There was no doubt that this was the voice of God speaking." When
the voice told him this, he looked at his calendar and June 9th, 1993 was
on a Wednesday. Did he possibly confuse his own mind telling him
to check 1994 with the voice of God? Could June 9th, 2005 possibly
be significant? I don't know, but he sure seemed like a precious
Christian brother that would not have published that report if he wasn't
sure that God spoke to him. I sure would like to receive word on
his state today.
At times, I too have heard the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to me,
and even carry on a conversation with me, and in those times, there's no
doubt in my mind that God just spoke to me. However at other times,
I have to question, "was that God or just my thoughts?" I am also
reminded of Acts 21:10-12 how that the prophet Agabus declared the word
of the Lord in revealing what awaited Paul at Jerusalem, but the people
placed their own interpretation on it and besought him not to go.
The word was not to dissuade Paul, but to prepare him. Many times
we are guilty of getting what the Lord said correct, but placing the wrong
interpretation on it.
I hope to see a harvest first, but even so, Come, Lord Jesus!
