I think the “entering into the Rest” that is spoken of in Hebrews 4:1-11 has a double meaning (if not more) and one of them is the Pre-trib rapture. I know that when we trust Jesus as our Lord and Savior and obey him we enter into a spiritual rest “by faith”, we have spiritually entered in to the Kingdom of God for the Lord has said “the kingdom” is in us.

But I think this passage also means we are waiting to also enter in to the heavenly promised land by faith. For in the Hebrew passages it alludes to a “place”, as the Jews were traveling to “the promised land” and were not able to enter in because of unbelief and disobedience. These folks sound alot like the foolish virgins of Mathew 25. Notice 40 years pass by too, “a generation”.

The promise of rest was a “day” designated. Hebrew 4:4-5 speaks of a day. In Genesis 2:2 it is speaking of the 7th day rest and in Psalm 95 it speaks of the same day of rest. For it says so in Hebrew 4:4-5: “for He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”, and AGAIN in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.” Psalm 95.

Some have said that the 7th day of creation is one that never ended Gen. 2:2 (it didn’t end as the other days of creation) and is perpetual and it has a “name”. Its name is “Today” Hebrews 4:7. Which means “in this present time”, this “day” seems to line up with the spiritual significance of what it is to enter God’s rest by faith i.e. Entering the kingdom spiritually before it manifest physically (when we trust Jesus as our Lord and Savoir which we can do at ANYTIME which lines up with the 7th day as Today).

However, there are still implications of an actual “day” a moment in time that is yet ahead. I think this to be the first Rapture of a prepared Gentile Bride.

Here is an interesting word study on the word “To day” or “today” done in the King James new testament, there are several  “third day” and “seventh day” implications and gives clues as to what prophecy will be fulfilled on the third and seventh days. Just did the new testament here, I’ll leave it to the rest of you to do the old testament. Another interesting word study is for the word “tomorrow”. Lots of prophetic implications as well.

6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is,

and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe

you, O ye of little faith?

16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is

red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the

sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

21:28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to

the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

21:29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and

went.

21:30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered

and said, I go, sir: and went not.

5:26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled

with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to

morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O

ye of little faith?

13:32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out

devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I

shall be perfected.

13:33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day

following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

19:5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and

said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I

must abide at thy house.

23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou

be with me in paradise.

24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed

Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things

were done.

3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his

voice,

3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of

temptation in the wilderness:

3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works

forty years.

3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of

you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your

hearts, as in the provocation.

4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so

long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not

your hearts.

4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so

long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not

your hearts.

5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but

he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten

thee.

13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such

a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is

your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and

then vanisheth away.

2:8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing,

vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful

deeds;)
