"December 14 in history"

On Saturday, the Lord led me to find important events that happened in history on December 14. Here are a few interesting things that took place on December 14 in history:

  • December 14, 1287 "St. Lucia's flood: The Zuider Zee sea wall in the Netherlands collapses, killing over 50,000 people."
  • December 14, 1503 Nostradamus (Michael de Notredame) was born
  • December 14, 1542 Princess Mary Stuart becomes Queen Mary I of Scotland.
  • December 14, 1799 George Washington dies
  • December 14, 1825 Decembrist uprising in Russia against Tsar Nicholas I begins
  • December 14, 1861 "Prince Albert, husband of England's Queen Victoria, dies in London."
  • December 14, 1889 "American Academy of Political and Social Science organized, Philadelphia"
  • December 14, 1903 "The Wright Brothers make their first attempt to fly with the Wright Flyer at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina."
  • December 14, 1911 "Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen and his expedition of four companions, are the first to reach the South Pole and return safely."
  • December 14, 1934 "First streamlined steam locomotive introduced, Albany NY"
  • December 14, 1939 Winter War: The Soviet Union is expelled from the League of Nations.
  • December 14, 1941 "German military commander of Kharkiv, Ukraine issues an order, under which the Jewish population was to move to the city periphery within 2 days, into the barracks of the works of a machine factory. In the next days 15,000 Jews are shot at Drobitsky Yar."
  • 2 Catholic popes began their reign on this day.
  • The ones that I found most significant were that George Washington had died (maybe symbolizing the death of the USA and freedom?) and Nostradamus was born (maybe symbolizing the start of his worst predictions on this date?) and the first attempt to fly was made on December 14 (maybe symbolizing the woman being given wings and flying to a place prepared for her on this date, a.k.a. the Rapture?).

Anyway, the next morning - yesterday, as soon as I woke up, the Lord put it in my heart to go back and look at the date that I was saved. When I looked it up, it was DECEMBER 14, 1986! That was the first day I ever felt the presence of God and the first day that I heard His voice saying that He loved me. It was the date in my life that everything changed. I was born again on December 14. Later in the day, He put it in my heart to find out the number of days of gestation and found that it was 266. I then counted the days of the year, starting from Nisan 1, and found that December 14, 2012, the 6th day of Hanukkah, is the 266th day of the year! Wow! More confirmation to me personally that this is the date He is pointing me to.

    Blessings,
