Thank you very much for responding to my post regarding the impossibility of President Obama being the AntiChrist. I am left with the conclusion that this issue has indeed been resolved in the minds of many. I can well understand why those who disagree are remaining relatively quiet.

In verse 26 two characters are mentioned: first the Anointed One and then (the people of the) ruler. In verse 27 the word He is used. "He" refers to the person mentioned last unless otherwise indicated so it's not the Anointed One but rather the ruler.
