"2012"

2012

December is gone.  As the last days of 2011 set into the sunset, the Spirit is speaking, but few are listening. All along something was happening, even while it seemed nothing but Christmas happened. As that year passes into history, another is falling upon the earth that will change things forever.

This warning will affect us all, but for those who do not desire spiritual insights or warnings, it will mean very little.

Very soon the Lord will be removing His saints in an event called "the rapture of the church".  There are many, many studies concerning this happening which one can avail themselves to its meanings, even via the Internet.  I am a believer in "that blessed hope in which those of us who are watching and preparing ourselves to see the dead rise first, then we which remain will rise to join them in the air, and will be forever with our Lord "(1Thess. 4)

But there are the skeptics...

2 Peter 3:4 is a verse of scripture that describes the thoughts of many:
"Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation".

Not so!  Not all things are continuing as they always were. Ask Japan. Ask the people living along the Gulf of Mexico. We who have lived most of our lives in this century know that the increase of knowledge (also prophesied in God's word) has brought about drastic changes. We can look back  no more than twenty years and gasp at the changes. Inventions are obsolete before they can even be marketed.

Recently, I read an article which listed certain recent events which confirm this urgent message.  All were prophesied in the Bible thousands of years ago.

Will strange weather patterns begin to happen and increase? Yes.
Will earthquakes, wind storms, and even tidal waves increase? Yes.
Will alternate lifestyles increase and become acceptable? Yes.
Will false prophets arise and deceive many? Yes.
Will there be a one–world system or global economy? Yes. Now in the works.
Will Russia, Iran, and some Arab nations invade Israel, and the USA become involved? Yes.
Will all these things and many more begin happening “after” the rebirth of Israel as a nation? (1948) Yes.
Were these things happening 75, or 100 years ago? No.

Jesus said in Lk 12:54–57: When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

Unfortunately, human behavior tends to dismiss all this as coincidence or "whatever-will-be-will be" kind of reasoning, then return to dismissal of prophecy itself.

The children of Lot did that when their Father warned them of impending disaster.  They mocked their father. Noah continuing preaching at the same time he was building an ark for the flood that was to come. Two years he preached--but when the flood waters came, only Noah and his family were aboard when the door was shut.

God does not do anything nor allows anything, without first giving warning "through His servants the prophets". Why does he let it happen that way?  He is not willing that any of us perish, but when we push Him aside and do not involve him in our thoughts and actions, he will simply step aside and things will happen as a matter of course.  We have no one to blame except ourselves.

Was Jesus the focus of our Christmas? To many, yes. But at the same time, His name was ordered to not be printed on the Christmas cards of our elected congress members, and since the word "Christmas" contained the word "Christ", they could only use "Happy Holiday" in the greeting.

How horrified were many Christians to see a manger scene with homosexuals playing the parts of the shepherds and wise men. Here in 'Christian America'!

Retailers were happy for all the Christmas buying, but at the same time we just learned today that $1.8 billion worth of merchandise was shoplifted during the same period!

Times have truly changed!

Never has such a dark, dark cloud been rapidly forming on our horizon like the one that will soon overtake us. Our precious dollars, our wealth, our dependence on the government, our assumptions, our love of the things of this world, our failure to obey His words, will suddenly find so many standing speechless just as the unprepared foolish virgins watch the prepared wise ones go with the Bridegroom.

Where I sit here in Alaska, I can tell you that debris from the terrible earthquake and tsunami in Japan is washing up on our shores as I write this.  Already, Alaskan seals are becoming sick and are now being tested for radiation poisoning.  And what of the salmon heading our way?

But tragedy is not confined to Alaska...it is happening along the lower 48 western states along their coasts as well.  Yellowstone is experiencing new rumblings and unusual seismic activity now being investigated by scientists.  The magna underneath is swelling there, and also underneath places never recorded before.  Cars are being swallowed by huge potholes suddenly, appearing, even houses have been devoured.  2012 experienced unprecedented weather; floods, drought, heat in triple digits, hurricanes, tornados.  World economies are teetering, inflation and bank failures are epidemic.  Jesus spoke of it as happening "in the last days". (Luke 21).

These are only the beginning of what is ahead.  At this moment of time, Iran is threatening to block the passage of critical oil through the Straits of Hormuz.  The price of oil, removal of long entrenched Middle East leaders, death of others,  epidemics and pestilence; all is foretold in many places in the word of God. All that can be shaken "is being shaken".

Our Bible tells us, "when you see these things beginning to happen, look up! Your redemption draweth nigh".  We are to take note of what is going on in our country, in our world.  God wants us to be prepared!

Ask yourself, what do you think of as you have read this article?  That it is just someone fomenting hysteria and panic?  Should you believe it?  If so, what will you do to prepare?  Hide food and gold in some cave?

11 "A day is coming when human pride will be ended and human arrogance destroyed. Then the Lord alone will be exalted. 12 On that day the Lord Almighty will humble everyone who is powerful, everyone who is proud and conceited. 14 He will level the high mountains and hills, 15 every high tower, and the walls of every fortress. 16 He will sink even the largest and most beautiful ships. 17 Human pride will be ended, and human arrogance will be destroyed. Idols will completely disappear, and the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

19 People will hide in caves in the rocky hills or dig holes in the ground to try to escape from the Lord's anger and to hide from his power and glory, when he comes to shake the earth. 20 When that day comes, they will throw away the gold and silver idols they have made, and abandon them to the moles and the bats. 21 When the Lord comes to shake the earth, people will hide in holes and caves in the rocky hills to try to escape from his anger and to hide from his power and glory.'  (Isaiah 2)

There is little more that needs to be said.  All is coming to pass, exactly as prophesied.  You and I happen to have been born during the Last Days to witness it in this generation.  No man knows the day or the hour of His return, but as Jesus admonished us to observe the signs all around us:

"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."  (Luke 21:36)

That is a question only we can ask of ourselves...and the one only He can answer.
