Photos have been posted here of Obama standing behind a Hanukkah Menorah,  having the middle light not properly placed in its holder above
the other lights,  but instead placed on a lower level than the others.
 
An article at cephas-library.com entitled “The Festival of Lights”, describes the middle “Servant Lamp” aka the “Shamos”:
 
“...is it not Yahshua the Headstone ushering in a new age of Grace as the Servant Lamp,  who by virtue of His sacrifice as the Paschal Lamb
brings us into reconciliation with Yahweh Elohim.  Consider that in Luke 2:30-32 Yahshua is described as a “light unto the Gentiles.”  In
Revelation (1: 12-16),  Yahshua is described standing in the middle of a Menorah in the position of the Servant Lamp..”
 
The Servant Lamp lights the other lamps,  as we have no righteousness of our own,  but depend on the righteousness of Christ.
 
At dc.about.com,  there is a photo of the National Hanukkah Menorah,  having the Servant Lamp Placed above the other lamps.  This Menorah is
traditionally lit during Hanukkah,  one candle on each night of the Holiday.
