"response to Phil
Rogers"
Phil, you wrote: "Now I also have recently heard
that for some people what I write is "TOO LONG" and is too much
of a bother to click on a link to another website"!
Hahahaha, I make no apology for what and how I write! I do
not pander to this U-Tube mentality that must have their info.
in 7 minutes or less! Nor do I care if they are too lazy
to click on a link to get there for the information! That
click of the mouse on the link provided must be very taxing!"
For the record, I have your website saved as a favorite in my
Prophecy Sites folder, and I have read a great deal of your
material. I don't believe that anyone who knows me would call me
lazy. I have a family, work full-time, and am studying for
certification in my field, so my time to spend reading these
days is somewhat limited. The point I hoped to make in my first
post was not to criticize your work in any way, but to draw your
attention to how you come across when you are addressing those
with whom you disagree. In my opinion, sarcasm and name-calling
have no place in a believer's communication. Personal attacks
aren't necessary when you are speaking from a position of truth
(and I'm not referring to your eschatology here). They only
serve to make you look defensive and insecure. I doubt that you
will agree with me, but you did also write, "And I will always
uphold scripture above all else!" I remind you that Scripture is
not only for determining the time of Jesus' return, but also
instructs us as to how we are to interact with others.
"Do not let any unwholesome (foul or abusive) talk come out of
your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up
according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."
Ephesians 4:29
"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared
to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason
for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and
respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak
maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed
of their slander. " 1 Peter 3:15-16
"With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we
curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same
mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be."
James 3:9-10
"But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of
judgment for every careless word they have spoken." Matthew
12:36
I am accountable to God for how I live, how I speak, and how I
use my influence, and you are, as well.
