THE JUBILEE BIRTH YEAR OF YESHUA AND HEROD’S DEATH

Lunar eclipses with so called birth of Yeshua and death of Herod dates

5 BC – (total) March 23, time between eclipse and Passover was 29 days
5 BC – (total) September 15, time between eclipse and Passover was 7 months
4 BC – (partial) March 13, time between eclipse and Passover was 29 days
3 BC -- none
2 BC -- none
1 BC – (total) January 10, time between eclipse and Passover was 12.5 weeks.

1 BC – (total) December 29, time between eclipse and Passover was 88 days.

Since the publication of a book by Dr. Earnest Martin in 1978 called the ‘The Birth of Christ’, scholars have acknowledged the difficulties with the 4 BC date for the death of Herod.

For centuries it had been thought to be sometime before the eclipse of March 13, 4 BC, however the eclipse Josephus mentioned “being shortly before Herod’s death” has been interpreted in error to give a date that supports a doctrine that does not recognize and delimits other possible dates for the birth of Yeshua.

Dr. Martin showed seven factors listed below, that make the assertion of an eclipse on March 13, 4 B.C. or 16 Veadar 3757 before the death of Herod most questionable, plus the fact that the eclipse was only partial and could be viewed for only 2 hours between midnight and 2:00am, and not what you would call ‘prime time’!

The proponents of the Herod died in 4 BC ‘theory’ claim that the following events all happened within 30 days:

1-- Part of Herod's body was putrefied and bred worms.

2-- He was taking round-trips to warm baths 16 Km away.

3-- He orders all important men in all villages to come (120-30 Km).

4-- His son Antipas is executed and Herod dies 5 days later.

5-- There is a magnificent funeral, and the body is carried 37 Km.

6-- A 7-day mourning starts, followed by a funeral feast.

7—another, mourning is planned and executed for the patriots killed.

The book, ‘The Birth of Christ’ proves that Herod died around January 18, 1AD or three weeks after a lunar eclipse, the one of December 29, 1AD/15 Tevet 3761. That date is still some 68 days BEFORE Passover, March 27/15 Nisan 3761, or plenty of time to complete the above events.

Herod’s death was some 90 days AFTER 15 Tishri 3761, the birth of Yeshua, proving the year 1AD or 3761 as the correct side and date of the 3760/3761 calendar for his death because both occurred AFTER 1 Tishri 3761.

Herod died in the interval Josephus mentioned that occurred between a lunar eclipse and a Passover, however it wasn’t 4BC. Dr. Martin, along with other historians of that time has given us the same details as Josephus, proving King Herod could NOT HAVE DIED before that eclipse and completed those events in 3 weeks.

Dr. Martin has carefully scrutinized the account of Josephus, the succession of rulers, the lunar eclipse that was used to establish that date and has come to demonstrate an overwhelming hypothesis that Herod died in mid January 1 AD.

For centuries the evidence OF ASTRONOMY has been used as the decisive means of establishing the dogma that Herod died before the eclipse of March 13, 4 BC.

Recent calculations, however, show this eclipse was only partial, and that the events narrated by Josephus to have occurred between that 4BC eclipse and the following Passover that followed are impossible to fulfill, while the total eclipse of 29 December 1 BC eliminated those falsehoods.

Dr. Martin wrote that it would take at least 54 days to finish them all, let alone in three weeks because there were still the preparations for a royal burial to be made and a 30-day period for the procession and burial to be included!

Another thing to consider was that the new King Archelaus, had to get things in line because the crowds coming into Jerusalem at Passover.

Therefore by assigning the 4 BC date to the eclipse Josephus recorded, the reality is because of its ‘short’ timeframe, it could never happen!  The eclipse of December 29, 1 BC could have fulfilled these time requirements easily, plus the fact that it happened in the evening at ‘prime time’ and would be observed by many people.

Dr. Martins book is critiqued here;

Rabbinic chronologist have tried to hide the “birth of Yeshua” and have altered the chronology; however in their  ‘Herodian Dynasty’ chronology, they SHOW HEROD’S SON Archelaus taking the rule in the year 1AD or 3761 the AD end of the Hebraic year 3760/3761 or 4000BC/4001AD!

That year 0 or 1BC/1AD was also a JUBILEE YEAR, because it is 14 Jubilee cycles from the 66th Jubilee cycle that fell between 700-698BC that is documented twice in 2 Kings 19-29-30 and Isaiah 37:30-31.

What the Rabbi’s are really trying to hide is that YESHUA WAS BORN in the Jubilee year on 15 Tishri 3761!

Then in the third year (699BC first year of next cycle) sow and reap and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit. 30 And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward. 31 For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the LORD will do this.

BTW; Hezikiah died in 699/698BC ending his 29 year reign and *extended 15 year life span.

It is often claimed that Dionysius Exiguus made a four-year error in calculating the date of birth of Yeshua as December 25, 1BC and forgot to allow for the four years that Augustus ruled under his original name Octavian.

This has been “sanctioned” by time, to keep a 6-5BC birth of Yeshua and 4BC death for Herod palpable however both ARE MYTHS that find no support whatsoever among historians.

Dionysius was a prominent scholar who lived in Rome in the 6th Century and who had access to accurate records, including many now lost to us. The reigns of the emperors were well-known and literally carved in granite and he was certainly aware of Augustus change of name.

Dionysius carefully selected the date of December 25, 1 BC., for the birth of Yeshua, and counted the commencement of the “Christian era” to begin six days later on January 1, 1 AD, that agrees with the start of the Roman year.

While Dionysius Exiguus was claimed to be in error of 4 years when he said Yeshua was born on December 25, 1 BC, he ended up within 85 days of the correct date, September 30, 1 AD, while the 4BC ‘theorist’ ARE STILL 3+ years off!!

More on the 4 year error;

Another ‘falsehood’ to keep a 6-5BC birth of Yeshua and their 4BC death of Herod ‘theory’ intact is TO ALTER the “fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar” from Luke 3:1.

The text: Luke 3:1a... In the FIFTEENTH YEAR of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, 2b...the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness

This date is unalterable; because it was ‘Inauguration day’ and confirms the reign of Tiberius just as the following ten Emperors were inaugurated. It is not a date TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY in Roman history!

The date:  The Senate convened on 18 September 14 A.D. to inaugurate the new reign and officially "confirm" Tiberius as emperor.

In accordance with Hebraic counting the FIFTEENTH YEAR of Tiberius Caesar fell between September 18, 28 AD and September 18, 29 AD.

If John the Baptist according to Hebraic 'Temple protocol' began preaching in his 30th year, to fulfill Luke 3:2b he could have began on Passover, April 15, 29 AD, that falls within “the FIFTEENTH year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar”.

Luke, if not at the time of Yeshua, but by the time his book was written in 58-70AD, would have been using the usual Roman reckoning, which would have the 15th year of Tiberius beginning on January 1, 29AD (c.f. Tacitus, Annals IV,1).

It is concerning the “fifteenth year of Tiberius” where this “three year co-regency” of Tiberius with Augustus, clouds the picture making the twelfth year of Tiberius as their start date. Thereby moving back three years, the “death of Herod” to 4BC to support their 6-5 BC birth date for Yeshua.

This theory of reckoning from a co-regency of Tiberius in his 12th year is unfounded; his “Inauguration day” was in his fifteenth year that is what Luke 3:1 is pointing to, Dr. Luke understood that well.

Luke 4:1 “And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age”

In Luke 1:41, we read that John was born 6 months before Yeshua, on Passover 15 Nisan 3760/4000. This factor, again confirms that Yeshua was “about thirty”, which would officially occur some six months later on 15 Tishri 3761, now September 30 1AD on the Gregorian calendar.

John the Baptist FIRST YEAR began on Passover, 15 Nisan 3760/4000AD, still in 1BC.

John the Baptist 30th year and ministry began on Passover, 15 Nisan 3789/4029AD or April 15, 29AD

Yeshua/Jesus FIRST YEAR began during the Jubilee year on 15 Tishri 3761/4000, now 1AD because 1BC ended on September 16.

Any 6BC to 1BC birth date for Yeshua CANNOT BE because it makes Luke 3:1 and “recorded history” LIARS. The chronology of the Roman emperors is CARVED IN GRANITE and we know Luke 3:1 is THE TRUTH!

The 30th year and ministry of Yeshua began on Sukkot, 15 Tishri 3790/4029AD or October 9, 29AD and ended in 30AD on September 27, 30AD.

The account of Josephus has been carefully scrutinized to demonstrate the hypothesis that Herod died in 1 AD and not 4 BC a hypothesis that is untenable.
