"For Those on the Verge of THE DAY: Cares of Life and The Trap"
Dear Doves,
Our
Master warned in Luke 21:34-36 about the dangers of dissipation,
drunkenness, and cares of life as clues for those on the verge of the
day of the setting of the trap, the snare, The Day of The Blessed Hope.
"But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation
and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day suddenly come upon
you like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the
earth." The days of 12-24 to 31 are days one can see such dangers as
possible. How do cares of life create anxiety and worry for those who
wonder how their holiday purchases will be paid for later? This is THE
season of the year, for promises with plastics, in usage of credit
cards to pay later. Is this a major cares of life issue for many, this
month? Yes, indeed. It is the cold and darkness of Winter. Each
hemisphere is either leaving it or entering it. It is a hibernation
time of the year with greater tendencies to sleepiness. The Master
warned to stay awake and watch for Him. Sleepiness augmented by
gluttony or drunkenness is no help. Is the trap being set?
These are days to seriously consider the wisdom of our Master's words
in Luke 21. "But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have
strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and
stand before the Son of Man."
With Love and Shalom,
Jean
