Perry Stone has an interesting study series on the Book of Revelation. In it he describes the possibility of THREE Babylons. An economic Babylon, a spiritual Babylon and a political Babylon. The spiritual Babylon, he described as Rome - the city on 7 hills that murdered millions of Christians beginning with the Caesar's of Rome and continuing down through the centuries with the horrible deaths of millions of Bible-believers during the Inquisition of the "Holy" Roman Catholic Church --- and current day (where even in places like Mexico, evangelical Christians have recently been murdered for their faith). They have also "trafficked" in the "souls of men," by chaining their followers into believing that their eternal destiny was linked with a place called "Purgatory," that does not exist - then using ex-communication to kick people out of their system (hence, condemning them to hell since they believe that you can only be saved by being a member of THEIR Church!)Perry proposes that economic Babylon could be New York where the UN is located and of course, New York is considered by some to be the economic hub of the U.S. and major trade-center of the world. This is the Babylon that could be destroyed in ONE DAY that would cause the entire world to grieve. Many prophets are predicting attacks on the EAST and WEST coasts in the last days.Political Babylon would be the actual area of Babylon where we are currently fighting terrorism - in Iraq. I found the study interesting because God often uses the same titles for different things. For example: we know that Jerusalem is Jerusalem, but God also called the city of Jerusalem Sodom in the Bible, for her spiritual sins against him. In God's eyes, there is more than one city of "Sodom," so is it possible He sees more than ONE Babylon!?Rene
