Re Rene

That was a really good question that you asked. In essence you asked why we would want treasures in heaven. Then a comment was made about the streets of gold in heaven in relation to our reward.
Why would we even desire treasures if there are streets of Gold?

In Revelation chapters 4 and 5 Believers in Jesus Christ are laying their crowns at the feet of Jesus Christ! Why wouldn't we just keep the crowns and walk away?

I know there are people out there saying ,"That's a silly question to ask." I don't think it is because we need to ask one fundamental question. If the crowns were giving to us for faithful service in Jesus Christ why would we give them away? Why would we lay those crowns at the feet of Jesus Christ in adoration and worship?

I come to the conclusion that in the presence of Jesus Christ we don't need anything. The crowns are somehow going to be placed in our possession and according to the Bible we will give them away at the feet of Jesus Christ.

We will be in the presence of the love and grace of Jesus Christ. By giving our crowns back to Jesus Christ we will know that it is all Jesus Christ.

(10) The four and twenty elders fall down before Him that sat on the throne, and worship Him that liveth forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
(11) Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created." Revelation 4:10-11.

In Psalm 23 the Bible says The Lord is my Sheppard I shall not want. My point is, we are going to be so overwhelmed with Jesus Christ that we will just want to give everything back to Him. We are not going to want anything because in His presence we won't need anything.

I often struggled with questions like these. I don't anymore because every thing that is good and Holy is to be found in the Person of Jesus Christ. So my answer is, I don't believe we are going to want anything in heaven.

That is good because when we want, we possess. God owns us. We are His possession, yet He has such great love for us that we could never measure this in anyway.

I hope this helped. God bless you and I am certainly looking forward to meeting you in heaven!!!
