"Re: Ron Reese great tract and tis the season of surfeiting and rapture"
Hey Ron,
Very good job on your
tract about our need to be ready for the rapture as measured by
scripture. I was told by a proponent of the other view that holds that
all Christians will be raptured at once, whose initials are F M Riley,
that I was quoting scriptures that contradict other scriptures in
proving the same point that you prove. He warned me not to respond
further because he would never read anything I sent to him again so I
didn't, but I knew also that it was pointless to argue further with
someone who believes that scriptures even can contradict other
scriptures. God is not mixed up about what He has said. Rather it is
their interpretation of certain scriptures that do directly contradict
vast portions of important scriptures and that is an eternally
dangerous thing to do. They would rather hold to their beliefs even
when those beliefs can be refuted by the pure word of God. Well,
fortunately, God is merciful and will give them the tribulation period
to get it figured out and will save multitudes more that way than have
responded to Him now.
Anyway, I also was struck by one
scripture that has been quoted a lot lately and you quote it again,
about not being charged with surfeiting and drunkenness and partying
etc. lest you miss the rapture. And it hit me that as we look for the
rapture in this season of partying and drunkenness it sounds like the
scriptures KNEW that it was at this time of year that our rapture would
happen and therefore the specific warning not to get caught up in the
"holiday parties" that would be going on but stay looking up and alert.
It's amazing how many scriptures that used to be very general and
distant have been coming into 3D and detailed focus as we draw ever
closer to our great escape. May we be wise and have bright burning
lamps with lots of extra oil.
Your brother,
