"my letter on The Golden Compass and atheism"

No absolute certainty there are no absolutes

To the editor: In her article that appeared in the Daily Sun on Saturday,
Jenny Sawyer asked "Is the Golden Compass really anti-Christian?" Her answer
was that it was not. She spoke of author Richard Pullman believing that
"children are raised in spiritual and intellectual torpor." Pullman, according
to Sawyer, only wants children to be able to think for themselves and to be
critical thinkers.

She says that he merely wants to teach children how to think not what to
think.
